  1. I'm trying your magic soup conjunction today, left over pot roast, left over ground beef that was tacos and turkey. I have no fresh veggies just onion and bell pepper so I'll be using frozen veggies

  2. i'm new to cooking at home TBH, especially with the slow cooker. explain to me like a newbie what exactly was in the crockpot along with the bag of beans. Water, or stock, or broth? Anything else? If there's a vid on how to make hillbilly beans (the base) let me know. TFS!!! LOVE THIS

  3. Winter is always soup weather here. I'll make a meal out of mac & cheese, tomatoes, meat, 3 or four kinds of beans, including red ripper cowpeas, onions, seasoning and have enough to feed 8 people instead of four servings.

  4. My Mama always brought me up with "roast on sunday, cold on monday, stewed on tuesday, casserole thursday, curried friday – food poisoning saturday!" as a rule. If you use curry spices on meat like turmeric, chilli pepper etc it kills the bugs and stretches an extra meal – but always remember not to reheat more than twice, or keep more than 5 days cold (fridge not frozen) or you'll get sick! One roast and some beans or root veggies will last a week like that.

  5. Pinto beans and corn bread were our staple foods during the winter. I believe we had them every week! We also had potato soup and vegetable soup. We grew all our vegetables, pork and chicken. We didn’t waste anything! Yes, the chickens are always happy to have leftovers! (Pigs love leftovers if you raise pigs). I don’t remember hearing you mention onions, although you did mention garlic. We have “a thing” for onions! Love their taste and texture, so they are in all our soups. Thanks for sharing!
