  1. It saddens me, I pass dozens of "farms" that have no gardens, no chicken…but field full of rusty trucks, farm equipment. Now..I know that there maybe who are disabled, elderly who can longer grow their own foods, etc.
But living in a rural community…it saddens me!

  2. Can homesteaders get away for a FAMILY VACATION??? We had only ONE in my lifetime on a farm, when we had a neighbor learn how to feed and water our animals, milk and gather eggs, so we could ALL go away at one time!

  3. I remember watching this video back when you posted it, and I’m watching it again with a different eye. I got into this lifestyle about 6 years ago, and I’m so glad I did. As I get closer and closer to getting back to the roots of my grand and great grand parents, the world is getting crazier and uglier. People look at us like we’re weird, because we don’t follow Hollywood, or buy the latest trending products, but we are so much happier than they are, and we’re ready for any thing that comes our way. I love living the simple life, with my feet in the dirt in my garden, or watching my LGDs interact with my livestock. God bless you and your family, and I pray He keeps us all safe.

  4. I'm listening to this video today, Oct. 4, 2021 and realizing that you did this video 4 years ago gives me chills. I have always been frugal not by choice but out of necessity. My grandparents were farmers and my parents always had a hearty garden. I have come a long way in the last 4 years. I only wished I had instilled these skills and values in my children so they can pass it on to our grandchildren. We are quickly approaching our "golden" years which are not looking to be so golden, but I am not new to this. Just have to tighten the belt a little more (that is something my dad used to say.) Prepare for the worst and pray for the best.

  5. You are just a wise woman who wants to share your experiences and knowledge with others and in hopes that someone will listen. We are here listening and doing.

  6. I’m very nervous about what is going on, I am 64 going on 65, I remember the stories my family told me when I was a young child and growing up about Hitler, my grandfather was in a Russian prison camp for 7 years not knowing if his family was alive. My fathers side came from East Prussia and what they seen and they had less then 24 hours to get on the boat to go to west Germany where my mom and her family was. I remember my mother told me if they made bread they had to go to the cellar under the basement to make and bake. I also remember the stories I was told when my uncles spoke about the depression yes it makes me so very worried. I’m Blessed I can bake and cook and can, I truly believe we all need to pray. Even my husband makes foods from scratch. God Bless you

  7. Not everyone is called to what you are doing. I know it's practical and God uses one another to help others. I'm not where you are. I'm ready to retire and watching the young take their stand. Proud of you.
