VIDEO: How to tell if a sprout is a weed or a plant

As a beginning gardener, I have to admit, I did plenty of Internet searches trying to find out if little green shoots were weeds or the beginnings of crops I planted.

In this video, I take beginning gardeners into my garden and show the difference between sprouts of arugula, carrots, lettuce, spinach, and a few weeds.

  1. I planted from a package spinach and all the long leaves look like weeds to me. Do you have a step by step of how that spinach look in stages? The long leaves look sort of what mind do.

  2. Thanks for the information. I planted an assortment of flowers, but now I'm not sure if there weeds or flowers growing. This yard has had big problems with greenbrier, kudzu and Chinese Privet. Many thanks Miss.
