VLOG 94
Music by Otis McDonald
Totally love what you do but This realllly depends on where you live, edible plants is one thing but a large polytunnel greenhouse would cause uproar in my old community because people who live and move there do it, in part, for the aesthetics (schools etc too obviously) and many of us grew edibles in our backyards/gardens. Even those with glass greenhouses put them in the back. The property value issue would be MAJOR, social capital or no LOL, so you are lucky to live somewhere where they are accepting to your way of thinking. Sidenote- after 11years we moved to a homestead instead 🙂 love your videos!
New Jersey sucks
Exactly, help them help you. Excellent message
Curtis you provide a service of food security which is nationalistic and innovative enterprise … its existed for thousands of years the social capital comes from the other side giving you the chocolates and you snow plough the side walks.
That is so amazing!! I love Kelowna!
Fuck the police
When I was young ,my people went south, were you could grow most all year .we all had fun grow and going to farmers market on Saturday. It was more social a lot of fun instead of busy, my Grandfather talk those that did cuttings and draft on to other fruit trees. If in the 60’s we would have kept that until now. How many less gangs /drugs. And unhappy less productive Chirldern. I tell a lot of people about your site. What could most people do just in there back yard ? O sucks An I moved in to a rental. Ok time to get back to the land.and live again having fun.
So the keeping or tearing down eg the greenhouse doesn’t depend on a specific law but on your relationship with the neighbours and the people in the city council. Interesting.
Your bit about social capital is some damn good advice!
Such good advice. I agree with you social capital is very important, keep pumping out these videos. I'm also a farmer but a conventional arable farmer and I love your vids
I can see someone complaining about it being an eyesore in the front yard, but if I lived there, I wouldn't complain, I think urban farming is pretty cool
I know it's 3 years late, but am I the only on that's flabbergasted by the fact that there are places in the states that you can walk around with an ak-47 and that's perfectly legit. Yet if you dare to sell produce to your community you're an evil person subject to punishment by the law?…
That's awesome!
legend
I bought a old farmhouse in the country 15 minute drive from the city to avoid assholes like this, including my building department, I've expanded my operation 20 fold in a huge barn I converted to grow all year round, and am renovating the house when I'm not looking after the plants
Its nice and quiet, and I have 226 acres for future unlimited expansion
Bravo Curtis. glad to hear it came out well for you.
I dig you:)
Excellent!
I support urban agriculture, but wondering why you need to live in urban area? Is that better than moving outside of town?
I guess I don't understand if you broke any bylaws or city regulations with your garden??? If you did, then your social capital is actually corruption at its finest. If you didn't break any bylaw… then keep on doing what you're doing
that's great that the city supported you, and gardening. I've heard many have passed city ordnance against gardening in the front yard. And they should roast!
Good for you and your town!
Yes no how u feel we have troll all was a mess with us calling stalking really messed up trashing stuff peeing toms u walk wrong they call the town trying to steal land movie land marker so know how u feel even on stuff we have the ok from the town they still call and report us glad u got a lot support from your naber
When Karen's complain, when it comes time, can starve.
Well Said
You have a right to confront your accuser. Tell the law enforcer to show the complainer or get lost.
Naive
You are the shit I love everything you’re doing don’t let the haters get you down those very same haters are going to be crawling begging for some of your food when this apocalypse hits because Oooohhhh baby Best believe they have no idea how to grow
Start killing all of the local politicians and local HOAs!
Leftists are against individual and independent businesses. Canada must be a difficult place to be an independent farmer.
