VIDEO: 87 Year Old Tomato Plant *UPDATE*

Update time! You all asked for it so I decided it was probably time to do an update on the 87 year old tomato. We Have found out some stuff since our last update:
1. The early crimson is indeed an extinct tomato variety
2. It is a regular leaf tomato
3. It is very VERY picky and will let you know if you are doing something it doesn’t like.

  1. Hello. I am a newbie here. So is this a plant that has been rooted/cloned from the original 87 times? Is there a way to leave a tomatoe in the ground and it survive year after year becoming a perennial? Maybe with a mini green house?

  3. Have you considered that its age may have other unforseen problems, that maybe 87 years ago it was a less robust strain and in that time tomatoes have just become in general stronger?

  4. Luke, just went on Google to find this variety named. Then went utube & found your video. Wow, what wonderful thing you have done, for us tomato Lovers. God has blessed you, for getting this variety back to life. I haven't checked to see if have seeds yet, just wanted to thank you for your hard work. Jeff
