Gardening should be fun, and today we are harvesting and planting one of my favorite vegetables. Is it possible to harvest and plant potatoes at the same time though, can it be easy? This video will give you the answer of those questions.

Great video and tips. I love potatoes!
Just harvested some Red Pontiacs for the first time this season and they were delicious with my garlic scape butter. Wish I could do plant for next season now, but the voles decimate them if I leave them in the ground.
Great video ! ! I like how you stack functions ! !
2:23 Lol, what was that?
that meat is not meant for humans to eat…
I'm hoping to plant potatoes for the first time ever this year in a similarly wood chipped orchard garden. Thanks for the tip!
What zone are you in? when will you harvest the potatoes you just planted? I don't think mine would come back over winter.
I gotta include a 2:24 wiggle walk in my next video. So good!
What the heck, I'll give potatoes a try.
The technical term for feeling through the earth after spuds is called Furtling 🙂
haha nice knife.
I had some potatoes come back up in the same spot I grew them last year. My question is why do you replant the largest one? I have no idea what size got left in the garden last year.
If you don't move trees, you don't need to move annuals. I love it
That's a great camera you're using and very still on the movement. Is it mounted and what kind is it? GREAT quality to go along with that quality Food Forest! Keep on keepin on brother, LOVE it! OMG I totally wrote this comment before your awesome Keystone Cop stumble at the end…PRICELESS, thanks for including!
Why not use the smaller ones?
Hi James, I recently came across your YouTube channel and as an avid gardener, I find your methods not only useful but refreshing. We plant a lot of potatoes and generally they do well except for the Colorado potato beetle infestation. I am always hesitant to use insecticides so I end up hand picking them and dropping them in soapy water and spraying the young larvae with soapy water. This past season I killed them in the thousands. The CPB has few natural enemies, so I was wondering if you had any advice that could help me to control their population? Thanks!
Loved your video. Left me with more questions than answers. Which varieties do you find work best in our lovely Jersey soil (shout out from Runnemede)? Also, I have been plagued by verticilium wilt so do you believe that my new B2E patch can nourish the soil and eradicate the wilt?
Side note, potatoes = nature's unboxing xD
Why you trippin
LOL – sorry that was…. "low hanging fruit"…
Bwahahaha !!
In this video, u just plant another potato for next year harvest!
My question is does that potato survive snow?? And come back again after all danger frost and heavy snow!?
James! I just built a square foot garden for my dad from your video and that amazing book. My question, how many potato plants can I put in one square? The label says one per 12-18" but the book you reccomend says 4? They are sweet potatoes bought from the store. I really would appreciate if you clarify it for me. Thank you for all your awesome videos!!
I though potatoes should be planted in different places because they drain the soil for nutrients? Also, how late in the year can you replant a potato like that- can it lay there through winter? Love from newbie
Stunt double @ 2:26! We sure love you and Tuck and learn so much. Keep it up!
James u never answer!
Can I plant just a regular potato from the store?
