  1. I'm starting up organic food forest. For obtaining various berry. Should I just start from seed. Or anywhere I can get organic cuttings shipped to me? Any recommendations? Also trees.

  2. I live in a house where nothing has been done for ages. There is a large field in front of it. I have broken down my front fence and am going to take some cuttings from fruit trees that are around my house and grow them starting in my front yard and spreading into the field I am intending to grow a "field food forest". The prickly pear in the field is coming on slowly. It is going to be a hell of a project as in this area people dump in the field all the time. I live in Cape Town, South Africa.

  3. "If you're gonna be using manure, I suggest you use your own, …" LOL Love the video. Great suggestions. Currently fighting a weed garden, planning to use cardboard in the fall and go from there. Would like raised bed permaculture garden however, that will take a little more time.

  4. An added warning. Manure or even hay or compost that came from places where herbicides like Picloram, clopyralid, and aminopyralid were used can be deadly. They go right through the livestock, end up in the manure and still last long enough to stunt and burn your plants. Even some 'natural manures' sold in garden centers have this problem. Know your source. Or don't use manure.

  5. Thank you this will fix my clay soil. The wood chips here in Oregon are not at all free but I am going to try it. My clay soil is useless. There were a lot of clay pot company's here. The cracks in the summer dried dirt are 6" cracks. Just yucky.

  6. hello sir, im wondering what thickness and brand of contractor paper you recommend. im doing raised beds, so would you recommend a synthetic weed cloth or the paper?

  7. Watching this from UK, I wish to thank you for this. You are an inspiration. I have actually watched almost all of your new ones and catching up on the old ones. This is my first year and I have learnt so much from you. I have grown or attempted to grow food from my heart ! I feel like I can relate to you as one of us and a genuine human being who wishes to spread the learning , joy and goodness. Thank you so much.

  8. Thanks for all the work you put into these videos! I tried to do a bunch of gardening this year but my battle with the weeds was unbearable! We got a decent harvest for an uneducated first try, but I eventually just gave up and let the whole garden go to the weeds. After that, I've just been watching a bunch of videos and trying to learn a bunch for next year. This fall I will be taking your suggestions and laying contractor paper + wood chips to make everything easier next year. Thank you again for all the wonderful advice and instructions on here!
