We lost eleven chickens in Harvey and I bought buff orpingtons and Easter eggers. And today my farrier brought me a mini donkey. God bless you. Big hugs my friend.
Love my doggie cage too!!
The senior hens can really beat up on the younger girls. The cage method helps so much to introduce each other.
Thanks For the Smiles and Chuckles! You are So Sweet with your animals…always makes me smile! That Lucille truly matches her name…what a pretty bird. Thanks Patara. xo
Love your videos, especially with the chickens. And your ladies have such great names!! Peace and blessings.
Great video as always!!! Have a great day!!!!!
You are the bird whisperer! :))) Nice!
I love watching your videos, makes me feel like I am back on the farm with my grandparents and such happy memories from that time. I love watching you with your animals and all the love you share with them and us. Well back to my todo list for the day-Collards are done and in the freezer-now wash an make a meatloaf for supper and mashed potatoes and green peas and cornbread.
Once again another great video.
Great job
I love the tuft on their heads. What kind of chicken are those with the tuffs in their hairdo?
That was cute.
i have been in the hospital so I am behind. Tonight I am binge watching one of my top three all time favorite ladies on youtube. I absolutely adore you Patera. You rock at what you do lady. I try to never miss one of your videos if I can help it. Thank you from my heart for what you do.
thank you very much–never thought of dog crate
What a great idea love it. Thank you
Oh my, when the Buff turns and looks at you in the face as you are carrying and talking to her. She loves you.
I used the dog crate for taking chicks outside to forage grass when they were little. Set it on a nice patch of clover, pull out the tray and let them peck around. If it's too sunny and warm, set the tray up top the crate for shade. Worked great. Thanks for the video, lovely girls you have.
great to see your smiling face! this method has served us well on several occasions with introducing new birds.
THANK YOU! How in the world do you keep coming up with videos just when I need them? Not kidding! It's beginning to freak me out. LOL We've had a new young silkie hen in a wire crate with the other silkies for almost 2 weeks now. Had 3 unsuccessful attempts to let her out. It's never taken more than a week before, BUT, I've never introduced just one chicken to a flock before either. Felt more defeated then a toothless rat gnawing on wood! :.( Today, we're separating the other chickens by breed. Right now, they're mixed in two different areas. Not a clue how I'm going to do it, but if I want pure bred chickens, it's gotta be done. Pens will be new to both flocks. Hoping they'll be too confused to fuss with each other. One rooster per 10 hens. Rooster to be added last. Hope I don't mess this up. Those silkies really bruised my ego. 🙁 Patera, thanks again for ALL the wonderful tips you've given me over the past 3 or so years. You're a rare gem. ✿¸¸.•*´¯ `✿
thanks for sharing how you amalgamate your baby chickens into already existing flock
Awwwww Miss P…..how nice to see you transitioning Miss Lucille with the chicks. I hope her sweet nature will coincide with that of the young chicks. I love the way you care for your chickens. Thanks for sharing with us!
I have been binge watching your videos. We have just bought 14 acres and will attempt homesteading outside of Hendersonville, NC over the mountain from you. Love your sweet and sincere approach. Keep up the wonderful videos!
Love ❤️
I took your advice!! Linoleum in my chicken, once a week cleaning, D.E., what a difference in the way it cleans out! The smell ISN'T there! Nice and clean! Good clean eggs! My Sister said that our eggs SMELLED Better than any she's ever had!! THANKS for the great information!! Bee Blessed Danny and Rita in TN on Rooster's Ridge
Ms. Lucille looks like a Ms. Phillis Diller. LOL. Too cute!
