We had a little snow storm and a long period of freezing weather. Our garden is pretty much gone. We cleaned up all the dead vegetation and started prepping the garden for spring!

I really enjoyed your updates Lea and Al! I am so impressed by how hard you all work and hew well you plan to make your garden a success! One example is how you bag leaves for later use, another is how you use the leaves for the chicken coupe, then use the fertilized leaves from the coupe for your planting beds. I love to see the chickens come up to the camera. I cannot imagine dealing with snow and daytime highs below freezing!!! I wish you all a really great 2018 garden season, and look forward to more updates!

Those girls said we be good back here…LOL… We done been hit twice this month with snow and ice with zero to low single digit temps. Your garden looks like ours does. I am so ready for this cold mess to go away and bring on spring! Can't wait to see what your garden will be this season. Good luck! 🙂

The snow totally missed me ….. So far
Brrr, looks cold! Love your garden area. I would love to have a garden that size but we hardly get any rain here in Arizona and our water bill is already over $50. a month in the summer because I have to water twice a day. I plan to put in a drip system tho. If that brings the bill down under $30. I'll expand my garden space. Our trees take the most water so I plan to plant vining plants like cucumber, watermelon and squash at the base of the trees. The shade from them should help the soil stay damp as well.
