Amazing! The effort/return ratio is huge. Just goes to show that we've been conditioned to believe that everything has to be complicated, when in fact it does not.

i feel the same way about rasberry plants… amazing how easy they are to grow. i placed mine up against the back of my house… 30ft worth… and i did throw in a few tpost after the first year of production and a few string lines… and i was getting bowls of berries from july til frost… this year ill have to do some more work to cut out the old canes out… but ill take it…
Just to let you all know, this winter squash lasts all winter long without needing to be frozen or refrigerated, just dry / room temp, and each of these squash is a meal for 4. With that much production he could literally keep his family alive all winter, or sell / trade the extras. Amazing stuff. Not to mention, each of those orbs has piles of viable seed!
