  1. Video was way too long with too little Information. Too much talk about other Topics not directly connected to your Video theme. I like your content but this was a waste if my time.

  2. Straw is not the byproduct of the hay lol! Straw is the byproduct of harvesting grains, so no weed seeds are in it. Straws are great for mulch especially in beds, because they degrade faster than wood chips.

  3. Quick question: do organic mulches open up the possibility for certain insects to live on, insects that could be harmful for your crops? Maybe you don't have that problem because of the colder climate? I remember seeing something on those line in a video from CodysLab (maybe you know about him)

  4. Sorry to batter you , but I have a question: my seeds have something like white on top of the container. Can you please tell me what to do to fix this problem? Thank you for your attention.

  5. Luke, straw is the bi-product of GRAINS, not hay. It will have grain seeds, not so much weed seeds because the farmers use Round-up. A known carcinogen that has been banned in Europe. Sure don't want that in an organic garden! Back before Round-up I used straw ONCE and never again because it was growing wheat like crazy.

  6. I moved to Indiana and heard this might not be possible… but today the city hired a tree trimming company to trim the trees on the street. I asked them if they sell their chips and they asked if I wanted them! They needed to get rid of them. So now we have a truckload of wood chips! Score!! Thanks for the great tip!!!

  7. This year I am trying out sheet mulching. I’d never heard of it previously (my mom had more of a green thumb), so I’d be toiling away, weeding & weeding. Basically, I’d be killing my back, and I already have back & neck issues. I have enough plans & projects I want to work on this spring & summer, so after hearing about sheet mulching, I am giving it a go through all my gardens. Now, if only I could get my tough sandy Cape Cod soil to grow better grass & not weeds.

  8. A tree chopping guy dropped off a load of cedar chips mixed with the leaves for us about a month ago. Some people say cedar chips are really bad, others say it’s good, and then there’s me with no idea.
I have weeds growing up in between my rows of produce so I just plopped some of the mulch in between the rows and not on the actual plants. Have I committed garden suicide or is it fine? Luke? Anyone?
