VIDEO: Why a Vlog & New Water Infrastructure | 001

Today’s video is a new experimental format to supplement (not replace) the current video format. I feel that a vlog is a good way of highlighting smaller elements in the garden which aren’t quite significant enough individually to have their own dedicated video. Please let me know what you think. With thanks to Gardena for sponsoring the water infrastructure. https://www.gardena.com/uk/products/watering/

New to HuwsNursery? 🙂
My name is Huw Richards, I live in Wales, UK and I am a teenager who loves vegetable gardening. Unusual right? I love to teach people around the world about growing their own food organically and my end goal is to get as many children as possible to have the experience of growing food which I believe is one of the most important things a child could learn. If you’re new to HuwsNursery then please hit that subscribe button (and also notifications) so you can learn more about growing your own food inexpensively 🙂

  1. Huw, Love the show and your just great to listen to, love the Welsh accent. Rhubarb, wonderful vegetable, whats the secret in growing the best like feeding manure, Boron and/or Iron etc etc, want to hear your secrets please, Peter Australia. Yours are so RED, whats the secret Huw.

  2. I think this format really helped showcase your personality. I hope it attracts a lot of traffic your way. Monty Don should be aware that his replacement has just checked in. 🙂

  3. Try asparagus from seed. Set them now (May 2018), plant out when big enough and you'll be cutting by summer 2020. Ignore the books and "experts", I've done it several times.

  4. Hi Huw,

First comment here, though i've been subscribed for a while. I'm loving the new format, I think it really works; you obviously have a lot of interesting stuff going on every single day which is not really shown in your how tos.

    Cheers Steve.

  5. Great job! Love to see your gardens and farm. Can definitely tell it is a lot of hard work put into gardens and they are just beautiful! Thanks for sharing!

  6. Great vlog, Huw. I'll be watching again with Jonah (that's him as a baby in my Avatar!). Tom has just installed a tap in the greenhouse so we should be able to irrigate on a timer…

  7. Format brilliant. Accessible and interesting. More visuals on how to do all the wee jobs please. How to plant, how to weed, transfer etc. Will let us see how to look after a garden in real time throughout the year instead of abstract tutorials. Great vids!

  8. I have been watching all the older videos, I love that you basically grew up during these video vlogs. Your passion comes through and it energizes me to grow as a gardener as well
