Crunchy cucumbers, fresh from the garden are in a league of their own. There’s nothing as cool as a homegrown cucumber!

Cucumbers grown in the greenhouse require slightly different care from those grown outdoors.

In this short video we show you how to grow both outdoor and greenhouse varieties, and share our nifty idea for making a fantastic cucumber frame to grow them up for easy picking.

  1. Hi. I'm a novice Green finger. These videos have been a Godsend for me, thank you so much for your no nonsense, keep to the point and facts videos.

  2. I've seen a lot of gardening vids and he answers all the questions that I had on all the prior videos I watched. I really appreciate it when people take the time to explain WHY you should do something. To me it is really important.

  3. We had the spiky cucumbers and had trouble getting some out! They were so spiky and we couldn't avoid getting spiked but the taste was worth it! This quick tutorial is just what I needed to start again fresh this year!

  4. I'm new to veg gardening, although had good success with potatoes/chard/carrots last year. But I didn't really understand the bit about "pinch out the growing points" after six leaves have formed. Can someone explain and also is that just for ground growing cucumbers or those supported on a frame? Thanks

  5. Hi I wonder if you could help me, I`m growing a cucumber plant, first time ever.. and the baby cucumbers are turning yellow and dry up and drop off… now I`m watering / feeding the right way. What`s happening with them ?. Thanks.

  6. confised why cut male fliwers off if they inside a greenhouse …. why inside but not outside ? and hiw do they pollinate if no male flowers ? sorry to ask but this cinfused me

  7. I am new to this gardening lark, and typically gone at it like a bull in a china shop, with some success. My cucumbers however aren't on the good list. I have a vine in my greenhouse that got a bit wild. It produced loads of cucumberettes, but they all keep turning black and dying after getting to about 3/4" long. I have a spare vine growing in a seedling tray that has produced 1 cucumber. This one is growing into a handsome fella. Any tips on sorting out the main crop?

  8. Hello! I am from Newcastle, Australia (a bit north of Sydney, mid-spring) and am growing cucumbers for the first time (currently about 12cm tall in small pot). I will put them into a large pot soon. My main question is about removing male flowers. Doesn't the plant need these for pollination? I'm loving your videos – you're inspiring me to grow food with confidence! Natalie.

  9. Hi, I live in Egham, I have a greenhouse , is there a reason why I should not seed cucumbers and green pepper this time of the year? will I be able to harvest before next summer?
