  1. Yummm. Girl I have to try them this way just cause lol. We been eating fried green tomatoes over here. This family doesn't understand you can't have that until you get your first ripe one lol. So they bring them in and tell me they fell off the vine. But I just salt and flour them and fry. So I will give yours a try always good to mix it up and try new things lol. Hugs

  2. I've never tried fried green tomatoes. I should give this a whirl. This video kinda takes me back to a favorite video called Fried Green Tomatoes. I bet yours are better then "Iggy Threadgoode's" attempt at fried green tomatoes. 🙂 If you haven't seen the movie you should give it a whirl. 😉 Blessing dear!

  3. Another way to make green fried tomatoes is to add okra. Cut the green tomato the same size as the okra.(So the tomato and the okra cooked at the same time.) In a bowl add tomato and okra together, salt and pepper and sprinkle on flour folding until coated. (some people like cornmeal and flour)Add tomato and okra mixture to a med-hot skillet and cooked until tender and browned. Drain on paper towels. Yummmmm I promise you wont regret it!!! My new thing is grape seed oil! Going to try some in the Grape Seed Oil. I found out about it from the Hillbilly Kitchen. She did Fried Potatoes and Onions! They were Great!!! Did't have to use a lot of oil or drain them and no greasy coating in your mouth! Love

  4. Girl you had me salivating! Love me some fried green tomatoes. I did not even think of cucumbers done that way! Guess what I've got a bumper crop of them coming in going to definitely give them a try. Thank you!!!

  5. New fan…Love the videos! My Mama taught me to put the sliced green tomatoes on pan lined in paper towels and sprinkle with salt in both sides. . Let them sit for about an hour. This allows the moisture to weep out. Otherwise we do every thing else about the same. Sometimes something gets substituted or eliminated depending on what's on hand. Looks yummy!
