  1. Yeah, my wife has a friend in France who told us that our winters in New Jersey are super harsh compared to France. I got the sense you can grow stuff in France year round without 2 to 4 feet of snow covering it all. By the way Curtis, love the fact that most of the houses in your neighborhood are ranch style and tree-free. I don't know what it is about this region I live in, they love trees all over their houses and have these 1896 houses or colonials. I wish local restaurants cared about having urban farmers, local to the vegan places around here is paying for a refrigerated truck from a farm in Lancaster, PA. That's a whole hour from here, meanwhile I am 15 minutes away from them.

  2. Regarding the minimum wage question here in Sweden. All wages are negotiated each year by the union for each respective field. Realistically, I have never known anyone personally who made less than ~$14/hour even working at McDonalds or any other entry level position but I am not an expert on these matters either so take it with a grain of salt.

  3. Sweden is a very different society to say the USA. Heavy taxes, sure but people don't go bankrupt if they're ill trying to pay doctor bills. If I had to leave the UK, it's one place I would consider. They're quite conformist but hey, wouldn't it be awful if every country was the same?
You hit the nail on the head when you said it had to be real, not playing at it. There's a community farm near us that gets government money. Lovely people who sit around and put the world to rights.. some days they even do some work. Not a clue 🙁

  4. 10:56 Yes, your right! Sweden does not have any minimum wages, instead there's strong unions instead. Since 1936 Unions & employer association have negotiated nationaly top-down. The consumer taxes are arranged as Value Added Taxes throughout Europe. Income taxes begins with district and county incometaxes ~30% while income from salaries above the break point top at 55 %. The very rich who got capital gain taxes on 30 %.

  5. Deleted the comment, don't want anyone else to chime in.

You've inspired me along the way! I'll be building a garden similar to your front yard soon. I just moved to Tennessee from south florida and left an awesome garden behind! I can't wait to start growing again!

  6. He must know not to mess whit the local union the first years living in Sweden or he will be kicked out.. Take your 4-5 week vacation and pleas do not work whit lower than minimum wage.

  7. Great video. Sava sure gets around. It is sure nice to be young and have the knowledge to go the new tech, lo input agri projects. Great video. God bless and thank you for sharing.
