i loved this!!! wtg boys <3 xoxo
Thanks Patara for the history lesson! So the American Indians helped White Man survive–is that in the history books? Also, about the materials you wear, i.e., cotton when cooking, to avoid said material from melting on your skin–it is good to know when planning what to wear when traveling by airplane. Wear cotton! No man-made materials!
Patara. I LOVED this! I want to make this stew. I love historical videos, so you can show em anytime. I don't think I have seen the reflector oven before. And I have been to a lot of historical places.(We home schooled 5 kids). Thank you.
the story of the three sisters is a big part of our "mohawk" culture there is a ceremony to honor the corn beans and squash.
I love fried corn bread put some butter on it and syrup OMG I can eat it with just butter too
What kind of beans were used?
what a wonderful thing to do. thank you
Delicious ! thanks for sharing ❤️
i prefer to call indian or native and i learned how to do 3 sister garden but never had 2 sister stew very interesting
That was fascinating hearing about history of the 3 sisters meal. I know people who have planted the corn, beans and squash together, they liked the result. Thanks for the history lesson. 🙂
I love Blount Mansion. Plan on going again next spring
Sometimes I wish there were a way to leave more than just 1 like! Love these living history museums and demonstrations.
What an awesome learning experience. Liked the lady squashing the squash into the pot. LOL
This was very interesting, I really enjoy learning little tidbits about the daily life of our settlers. Thanks.
That was nice!
I use the 3 sisters method to grow my corn ,winter squash and Cherokee beans..the plants benefit from each other..
Love..love..love open hearth cooking…great vlog..thanks for taking us along Patera..

I eat like this all the time.
Hello: At 9:25 Pone Bread. Could mix in some corn into the bread. Taste great, mix corn in
hush puppies. Love to have one right now.
Loved it.
Loved the vid. I think we all need to get back to a simple life. Healthy and basic, and I think it also is soul satisfying, and helps clear the mind and conscience.
What a lovely video!! I so love the pioneer days! 🙂
That was so enjoyable! I found the little bit about the clothing interesting, and goodness – would love to have one of those old time reflecting ovens! Thank you for bringing this to us x o
Just love seeing the way things used to be. I can remember momma having an apron and using it for everything.
Yummy, you have made me really hungry, sounds like a great meal, in a winter days, easy and very cheap.
I had no idea that growing like that was called the three sisters. I just naturally gravitated to doing it when after my first few years of planting my little garden out back. When I learned the story it made perfect sense that the indigenous people of the land would do it like that. Just as I thought Why not use that corn as a pole for my beans. This is the first I'm hearing of the stew and I'm going to be adding this to our menu. Many thanks to the Great Spirit, his peoples, and to you for sharing this wonderful meal with us.
The 3 sisters growing method definitely seems like something that would be worthwhile to try out.
This was so interesting and entertaining – thank you for taking us along with your family.
I love your videos.
my gram used to make those cornmeal pancakes and then layer them with fresh sliced green onions, cubed cheddar cheese and hot enchilada sauce. Then she put canned olives on the top. it's really good. You marinate the green onions and cheddar cheese cube in a little vinegar, 1/4 cup or less, for 45 min before using. It's a great dish for camping, no oven.
