  1. Hi Patara! I’ve been using your crock-pot method for several years and I love it! I lightly puree mine in the food processor just until it’s chunky, then “slap them in” the crock-pot as you say, lol! I like processing them before I cook them because it just takes a few minutes, and it’s easier for me to blend the tomatoes when they are cold. The sauce thickens and develops the richest flavor. I cook it on high for 3-4 hours, stirring occasionally. I have also cooked it on low overnight with good results. Thanks so much for teaching us these valuable skills! Life changing!

  2. JC Penny had them on Black Friday for $13 last year !! I was very surprised at that price. I am checking on them this year & they have them for that price….Christmas Gifts for everyone!!

  3. I have 8 of these. I use them to help with canning & freezing.. We cook allot of meals for church. We also fix & delivery complete meals to families who have someone ill. The church does meals for those recovering from a surgery or a hospital stay. Meals for those who had a loved on go to Heaven. My daughters fix a meal for the entire staff at the local elementary school once a year.. At Thanksgiving & Christmas We do meals to delivery to other families. We lone Several out for others to use too.. Mine get used year round. I replace about one a year.. At $29.00 very affordable.. GOD BLESS

  4. I have a canning question for anyone: After we've opened a jar of homemade jam/jelly… how long will that keep safely in the refrigerator? I was thinking that since these were not made with preservatives like the store bought kind…that homemade caning jam would become unsafe after maybe a week. I've been throwing mine out, but have wondered if I'm being wasteful and overly paranoid of getting food poisoning.

  5. Hello, I am very afraid of canning because I really don't know how so not to cause sickness to me and my family. So, can I after the cooking of the tomatoes, blend or chop them, and put them in a freezer bag for about 3-6 months. Can I freeze tomatoes, onions, and peppers? And if so, how long? Thank you for your time and your great videos. Have a great Thanksgiving!

  6. Yes , yes , yes ! Ever since my first Thanksgiving in Florida in 94' , I started looking for a way to cook outside the kitchen. A whole day of a hot Kitchen was enough to send me outdoors! A Turkey Roaster was purchased and our next Turkey was roasted in the utility room and on top of the dryer in the Roaster. Cooled in half the time! All that heat was let outside with an exhaust fan! The big oven was freed up to cook all the rest of the food without being left on all day. Since then we have discovered so many practical uses . Make a great portable oven for camping trips or big family meals at the park! Even made a whole baked meal in our garage in it during the trio of hurricanes that hit Florida years back. Not much strain on the generator either!

  7. I bought the big one years and years ago. I always cook my turkey in it. When I was a kid, my mama used to make pear preserves when we could come across some cooking pears, and later she would make a big batch of chili. Now I need to find the smaller one to do the jams and butters. Glad to see you making use of the roaster. Love your videos. Have a Wonderful Day!
