  1. It gets really cold with a lot of snow here. Our pigs had an open side shed and we would put mounds of straw in it and our pigs would burrow under the straw for warmth. Keep your goats warm and dry to keep them healthy. Their hooves have to stay dry or they get rot. P.S. sorry about your little goat, it always hurts to lose an animal.

  2. I also live in Arkansas! Are you located around Little Rock? I am New to your Chanel and I am hoping to learn a lot from you. I am 15 years old and I am new to owning goats. I am glad I found your channel.

  3. Jess, I assure you: I do live in a place that gets a lot of snow. the heavy and humid type (Quebec, in the east of Canada). Yet, every single year, this beautiful moment of the first snow is extremely exciting. I can feel your joy. It IS joyful!. You get a nice amount at this time as you already have at least the ground all white! I had no idea Arkansas was this cold in winter.

  4. I am so sorry to hear about Duckie, you couldn't have done more for her. Life is a circle. Love your snow video, that is how I feel about snow too, it makes me speechless with wonder. It will prbably be a while before we get snow here in the UK though, normally in January or February if at all.

  5. There is learning always. I can not have animals where we are but have lost many veggies. I know some will say it is not the same but what I am saying is we learn from are mistakes. Might be reading everything we can get our hands on to do it different. God knows you are trying. You wouldn't be the same girl if this death didn't bother you. Praying for you and yours. God bless

  6. LOVE. THE. SNOW.  We get it here in NC foothills of the Appalachian Mountains but it's always magical to me!!  So sorry about Ducky!  But hey you're doing your best!  Don't beat yourself up over this.  You've learned a lot through it and will make it count!  That's also a huge part of your farmstead life…right?  Hugs!  I receive your blessing and bless you back!

  7. I thought that about flying until I went to Europe! Long flights! Love your messages! Blessings I am catching up on your vlogs. I still get excited about the first snow! It is just when you are snowed in for weeks and that happens in Kentucky a lot, it wears you down!

  8. This video reminds me of when I was in the Swiss Alps on my honeymoon. A family from Australia was there with us. The boys had never seen snow, and they were having an absolute blast playing in it. Being from Michigan, snow is nothing exciting for me, but it was fun seeing it from the perspective of those three boys.
