Hello from Northern Australia! I see that mindset from a lot of people. Take quail for instance. Quail need incubators to hatch. Birds or even animals that need that sort of help aren't sustainable. Why aren't these people getting into utility pigeons? They'll breed and brood their own offspring. No incubators needed. JMO. Cheers.
Hey Patara, love your videos. Can you talk a bit about homesteading while pregnant? How do you deal with lifting things, not getting overtired, etc?
Very good advice, ty.
The blue egg is beautiful! What variety lays it? Good ideas to stop and consider the consequences of choices and priorities right now.
Look at the calendar and get your Priorities right!! Family is what is important. Family always comes first, corporate job comes second, that Is what I say
Thank u so much, I needed to here that have so many animals an hate to get ready of u open up my eyes an my mine. Thank u so much good bless
You look beautiful, and that blue egg looked like a dyed easter egg, so pretty! Hope you enjoyed your date night!
WOW… I needed to hear this today…..thanks
"Don't work harder, work smarter", my mantra. My husband is now 83 and has slowed way down + some memory loss but I will move forward and we will have a good life. Work smarter–I can't do everything but I can do a lot. We have a great small house on five acres, but I need to build a car shed and chicken coop this Spring. Enjoying our life.
This exactly what I've been thinking on, I have 4 kids, 6months, 5,8,&13, homeschooling the older 3, anywhere from 30-100 poultry (depends on time of year, meat and layers) and 11 dairy goats. We also do a lot of gardening. I love it but it's been almost 10 years ago that I quit nursing and started homesteading and I'm tired, the kids are older and want to do more things out of the house and babies take so much of your time. I've decided I need to cut back on the number of animals until my youngest is a couple years old and sleeping through the night, I can always scale up again then. But for now we all need a break, the kids are tired too, it's time to cut back a little and do some fun things together while they are still home. And keeping animals through winter in Alaska is especially brutal sometime. Anyway I didn't mean to go on and on but thank you, God bless.
Love the new haircut!! Beautiful eggs girl. Good job as always
Love the new hair cut.
I'm having something similar going on. I've been struggling to figure out what to do. I'm still not sure.
So true! Life goes by so quickly, prioritize and then plan. Live intentionally!! Patara your hair looks great.
Thank you, Amen and many blessings dear! 🙂
Love your hair
Wise words indeed.
I absolutely love this, thank you!!! I’m an only parent with dogs, chickens, and a cat. My kids and I want more property, but until then we are making do. I definitely need to prioritize and decide what I need to do and don’t need to do on a regular basis. Thanks for helping me feel less guilty about what my family situation is and what we need to do. ❤️
You are such an inspiration! <3
Excellent video and LOVE ur haircut
Yes!! Yes to all of this!
I love these “reality” check in talks. Simple but wise and I very much appreciate that. ☺️
Do you still have the other GP dog?
Pretty darn chilly, let's be honest cold, on our TN Homestead today. After a couple of cups of coffee I'm heading outside to make sure everyone has warm drinking water and grab some firewood to keep our house comfortable. Stay warm !
I needed to hear this today. Thank you so much Patara for the comforting words of great wisdom. <3
❤❤❤
Some good advice , Patara .. and I know it came in handy for a lot of folks a year later when the chicken squat hit the fan in 2020 …
