  1. I have one of these plants that I got from U of M botanical gardens. Thought I was buying an Orchid Cactus. It is about 4 years old and now hanging in an iron hanger from a tree outside. I may have to find a new home for it. Don't know how to send a picture on here.
Today I bought a new cactus also called dragon fruit, but looks nothing like the one I have and in your video.
So I don't know what I bought today.

  2. My lazy way of getting the segments to root is to just stick it in a bucket of about 1-2 inches of water and wait a month or more – make sure to refill the water once in a while (not let it completely evaporate – which I have done) and it will easily root. Don't put it in direct sun during this time. Heck, you could put it in a dark closet and it will still root. Thanks for the growing tips.

  3. I just thought of a good idea for trellises I thought of it for this but it could be use really for anything I guess… You could get a tree branch and stick it in the middle of the pot so that the dragon fruit vine growS up thatInstead of wooden stakes or any kind of trellis you might have to buy or build!

  4. So you take the soil and sand and just mix it all together or do put sand in the bottom and soil then on top? What's the actual mixture? I'd definitely like to grow these.

  5. My father in law tore the cement out of his garage floor, and added windows. He now has dragonfruit and pineapple bushes and even a banana tree growing in his garage floor! Pretty crazy but very very fun.

  6. I followed this video to grow 10 dragon fruit. They all died or didn’t grow at all. Then I found people who had grown dragonfruit before, followed their guides, and now I’m eating my own dragon fruit right now. I love this channel but the soil, nutrition and watering instructions aren’t good
