In this episode I show you how to set up your bale garden. I show you how to properly position your bales, how to position your entire garden to get the most sun and how to keep weeds out of your bales. I also discuss soaking your bales with water for a few days to get them ready for the conditioning process. Thanks for watching!

Heck ya brother now we talking! Love seeing those bales put in place! Awesome tips ya gave here! Cut side up folks! Bet you did not notice something funny about my bales. I been getting my bales from a new farmer for the last two years and so far only one person has noticed and asked why are these different. Great job done here my friend! Keep up the good work!
Great explanation and walk through on the set up.
We got 7 inches but it melted the next day. Will fresh straw work to cover my potatoes with after planting them??? I want a no dig method. I am also wanting to use partial composted leaves…What do you think? I just love your channel…..
I lovr the detail of instruction you give. Im setting mine up this weekend when my adult sons come home for the weekend.
I just love this time of year! Not sure when you made this, but we got a good deal of rain yesterday and it's coming your way! I missed the early videos last year so this is all new to me. Can't wait to see how the plants go in!
I like the detail and thank you for adding the time lapse.
So Brew city, does that mean you're from Milwaukee? We're originally from Milwaukee.
So in your climate a North/South orientation is better? Where we are, it's best to limit exposure to the Western sun.
Very well done sir
I can't wait to see the whole series on this. Ever since our conversation, I have been thinking about trying this method with one bale and seeing what I can grow in it.
Thanks for sharing.
Cool video! I can’t wait to see the conditioning video!

You are a natural teacher. I like how you explain what to do and why we should do it. I’m new to straw bale garden and I’m learning. Thanks for sharing this video.
Awesome info as usual when it comes to straw bale gardening! I think I'm late to trying to set something up this year but hopefully next year I can do some myself
Had always had a fantastic garden in the ground at our old place. I had tried my idea of a raised bed on some new property. Knew the previous owner had used weed killer in his fence rows and did not know the condition of the soil. So, built raised beds with yard debris, cardboard, organic trash and leaves with straw as filler and potting soil on top. Things were not growing properly. (see my video on garden fail. My idea turned out to be too expensive buying all that potting soil.) So, taking your advice and starting over with just the conditioned straw. Will be doing vids on it, too. Thanks for being here and sharing this technique.
