  1. In my plot I use woodchip and build soil because if you James, all the other plot holders dig, dig, dig and think I'm mad; I've had more produce than any of them and it's my first year. I posted a video on my channel, take a look.

  2. Hi James, just wanted to say thank you! I Really appreciate all the help, tips and inspiration you provide. I have started my own food forest inspired by you! Had to wheelbarrow in 40cubic meters of wood chip mulch as we have no access wide enough for anything larger! We did it and cant wait to start planting soon. Just planning what to plant now as its winter here in NZ. I have noticed our existing plants, lemon, lime, feijoa and plum trees already look healthier than they have looked in years. So thanks again. If you ever want to travel around the world visiting diverse or different food forests I would LOVE to see you do that. I have seen an amazing 28 year old food Forrest in the south island of NZ. I love how people around the world can be inspired by eachother.

  3. no clue which climate u're in if u talk about seasons. And how is nobody whos doin videos like this one a comparison on how it looks like if u dont prun

  4. Oh my goodness my family had a raspberry patch for years before we moved, I had no idea about any of these methods. I'm so grateful for your knowledge! When we plant another raspberry patch, I will make sure to use these tips! Your awesome!

  5. Do you prune the everbearing raspberries at all? I am guessing you don't top them in the first year at 4' since that would prevent a fall harvest. However, that would cause more lateral growth for the next spring. I guess if one gets too tall, you can give up the fall harvest for a more manageable plant and better spring harvest. Also, can you top the first year canes after fall harvest and still encourage later growth for the next spring?

  6. Why yo, where did you get those Soldacki Tomatoes ???? I tried everywhere and they don't seem to find them. I'm in Montreal, Canada. Please reply as I would like to try the way they taste.

  7. Hi James! I'm new to your channel. When you prune the raspberry and blackberry stems, do you leave the clipped stems on the ground as organic matter or do you put them in special location to decompose? Also are you using any particular kind of wood for your wood chips? Are you avoiding certain types of wood? Thanks!

  8. hey bud great video as usual. My rasberries and black caps are just starting to ripen today. So you thin your patches out every year? and at what time of year? My area is just thick as can be. i have been cutting the dark ones out that dont grow any green in the spring but im sure i could use some thinning too.

  9. also on my first year of gardening i did a 4×8 chunk of garden covered in wood chips and its staying pretty moist but i still water if we lack rain for awhile. i didnt get chips super deep due to other projects but i have them and will when i get time. very few weeds which im sure would be non existent if i had deeper chips and less watering.

  10. Just love you and Tuck. I am learning so much. From Asparagus to blueberry plants. My first year using woodchips. Can hardly wait for next year's garden. Bigger and better. Please keep sharing. You are so inspiring!!!!

  11. I love your wisdom on the pruning. My son is suffering from a breakup and im going to pass that along, she was taking an extreme amount of energy and he needed to prune her away, rest and will come out of it better and wiser.
