  1. Such a great video. Taking a moment to be grateful for those simple things in life that make us happy is what it's all about. LOVE the idea of The Chicken Way — even we know those near us who have chickens! I have a route on the way to the Hatchery where I remember all those with egg stands and am trying to visit each one yet this year before Winter comes. Here's hoping you find a good, comfortable chair for your chicken yard. And if you want any fancy breeds, you know where to find us! 🙂

  2. Jess! How dare you make that little child work so hard! It is you who chose to farm, NOT your children!!
Before yall get bent out of shape, I am being SARCASTIC!!!! I once heard someone say that many years ago. Funny thing is her child is now in his late 20s never got past 9th grade and is a lazy bum, mooching off of his mom and us tax payers.
I just want to thank all of the farmers and parents out there that have taught their children the self satisfaction of a job done by themselves. In the long run those are the adults that show respect to God, and all of His creations! I love watching children's face light up when they are told they are good helpers. Thanks for your channel Jess, Mia and family, you always make me smile!

  3. Jess, I have to tell you how much your devotional videos bless me. When I get so wrapped up in what needs to be done and what I can't do anymore, I get to feeling sorry for myself. Seems about then God puts one of your videos, the one that I need right then, into my play que. It reminds me to stop and look around at what God has given me. Thank you! God Bless

  4. I absolutely love love love watching your videos when you show your whole farm with all the animals. I grew up on a farm and I so miss it. Please never stop showing us you're beautiful Homestead.

  5. I love this. You totally are my chicken way. We as a culture definitely need to focus on how grateful and blessed we are for what blessings we have. Such a good reminder. Thanks ❤

  6. With no hands pecking is the only way they can feel and check something out, I think they're just checking out the flowers on your blouse to see if they're real 🙂

  7. I love how you walk around talking about all the volunteers and how interesting it would be to see what the garden would do if given the opportunity (but you don't think that would ever happen). Why do I love this? Because I'm watching this in summer of 2021 when you are getting ready to leave your wonderful farm (for an even greater adventure) and you're letting every single volunteer stay and sowing seeds willy-nilly to fill every space. Thank you for restoring my joy in gardening!

  8. I know you made this episode a while back, but I just wanted to let you know that today, September 20, 2021, what you had to say in this video was exactly what I needed to hear and exactly when I needed to hear it! Thank you so much!
