VIDEO: How to Grow Dragonfruit Part 4: Blooming & Pollination 🐉🏵️

I got my dragon fruit plant to flower and it was the most beautiful thing ever. Afterwards, I did hand pollination as I believe it’s a self-fertile, self-pollinating variety, so no need for cross pollination. Fingers crossed though, as my pitahaya is unlabeled and it could be a variety that requires a cross or is not self-fertile.

I highly encourage you to watch the entire dragonfruit playlist in order if you have yet to see it, as I’ve been learning how to grow dragon fruit from cuttings for a year now and finally got flower buds, which is SHORT for dragonfruit.

  1. Hand propagation is best by light wide paint brushes, or small feather dusters, I've always heard and seen. Hopefully this is efficiency helping possibly, and not taken badly. I'm liking the show.

  2. Thanks for these awesome videos! Love your tips on how to do a proper cutting in the last video. Love the enthusiasm. I have night blooming cereus & now want to plant a dragon fruit too!

  3. Hello, brother kevin. 15 months ago I planted a dragon fruit plant after seeing your dragon fruit series. And today one of my flowers is going to bloom. You're an absolute inspiration for me.
