  1. If your worried about keeping the water clean, get a little peace lilly, wash the roots and use that as your filter plant, I've got one in my big set up and its doing great. Peas grow fast too. I've got 3 fancy goldfish in my setup and its all working well, the rocks in the grow bed will act as your bio filter anyway. You will be surprised how much something like this can support. The beta might like a fake plant too.

  2. Go to Fred Meyer/Kroger or any mainline grocery store and pick up a package of living basil and get your starts from them. Just trim the starts off of the main plants and stick them in, they should set roots within a week. No waiting forever and you can use all the extra for cooking a nice dinner =)

  3. I been checking out the larger systems out on you tube but I never would have imaging any company coming out with one so small. I think it is an awesome ideal so a person could try it before investing a lot of money for the bigger system.

  4. if you have an amazon affiliate acct you could list the link to the item that you are using. but you're probably aware so i presume maybe this item isnt out on amazon?

  5. I just got my aquafarm yesterday came with a bunch of wheat grass seeds, kind of did an old trick my first grade teacher taught me to get plant to germinate quickly, basically wet a paper towel tossed a group of seeds in folded it and put it in a zip lock bag placed it by a window and right now they're all rooted.

Usually takes a couple of days for other plants to sprout but dayyam these plants work quick, good too cause I have a beta and a cleaner fish. Avis and fatness of greatness making the water foggy.
I think I might try planting strawberry seeds when I get more experience with this.

  6. Many pet chains have silk plants made for betta fish. Their fins are quite delicate, so any plant won't do. They like to hide and explore. I have this system, and I bought 3 silk plants and a betta hammock with my fish from Petco. My guy is doing great, and I have sprouts after only 2 days! I did not realize how engaging betas are…. Pele swims over when I walk into the kitchen and watches me. He knows when Its time to eat,and will swim over and nibble the pellets off a chopstick! He's a cool little fish. The salesperson suggested the hammock, and he actually uses it.

  7. Tiffany if you were asking me… Pele is doing just fine, I have 2 extra snails (my mystery snail laid eggs 2 survived), and the ghost shrimp I thought Pele ate were just hiding. When I did sine cleaning in my tank I saw a couple down in my rocks !!

  8. Hi! I'm wondering how is your tank going… Mine seems to be doing great, fish is eating well, plants are growing fast (basil, red lettuce, parsley, arugula) I added a snail so it helps to clean the tank, and I also added marimo balls, they look great, the fish loves to hide there and the snail seems to be eating from them as well. The thing is that there are 8 marimo balls and the snail so now I'm wondering if they might be stealing all the nutrients the plants need to grow, and maybe too many marimo balls clean the tank and the snail doesn't have much food. Hope yours is doing great.
