  1. Did you need building permits for that? I think in my city a building needs to be less than 10'x10' to not require permits and all that. Maybe i could build several 10'x10' sheds to get around that.

  2. Wow so inspiring Curtis. Would love to build a nursery/greenhouse like this st the Montessori School where I teach farming near Boston. I have a dome from growing spaces now but this! Cukes also grow great in my dome. The kids love the “cucumber jungle” every year.” One question. Your cuke plants look very lean. Do you sucker them and leave only one leader?

  3. Nice video Curtis, I stopped following for awhile. Nothing wrong with your channel, just was difficult to find 20-30 minutes to watch. Found that I was missing some of your technical know how, and practical advise.

  4. Hi I'm building a greenhouse very similar to yours and I was wondering how you attached the plastic to the wood. I live in northern Michigan where we get heavy snow and Ridgid cold tempatures and what pololy did you use?

  5. This is similar to what I was going for, but then I had to move due to neighborhood problems.
Now I live in a stupid apartment complex that won't let me do anything.
    I can't wait to move…

  6. Curtis what do you do to mitigate oxalates in your diet.

It's definitely something that has me shifting food choices, lately; would recommend [video] 'The Hidden Dangers of Oxalates in Your Food‌ – Interview With Sally K. Norton' as a great introduction to the topic.

  7. do you ever have issues with the plastic? that was always my biggest issue w/cheaper greenhouses (as apposed to like glass uber expensive greenhouses that are very impractical)

  8. Would adding mirrors in a greenhouse help reflect and amplify sunlight everywhere and even potentially raise the temperature as well?
I did some YT searching and discovered Rustoleum and Krylon both have a mirror spray paint in a can. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8iTQwnDaLg&list=WL&index=63 . So all someone would need to do is find some glass that's being thrown away, spray paint the back of them, hang them on a wall and all of a sudden that wonderful sunlight coming in would be reflected everywhere!! Also the light from the LED lights could also be reflected everywhere.
If the sunlight in the summer ends up being to much, you can take them off the wall and store them off in the corner. Thoughts?

  9. tourban farmer curtis stone, hi im kou ims likes your year rounds greenhouse so so so verys muchs buts ims do nots knewings to gets helps so me i have you writend in here to tolds me thats how can i must by to buildings or whos i shouds get thats helps

  10. I LOVE how you have always maintained a complete understanding of CONTEXT. you reference it in most videos, but it is something so many people miss. Your market is different from markets elsewhere, so are your soils. your pest problems are different than farmers in other regions as well. Maintaining a frame of local context is SO important, and often times successful farmers/ranchers present their methods as the end all – be all of methods. I find your information MUCH more helpful for this reason… you aren't blinded by the places you have had success.

  11. Really awesome to see how you've converted the same space from a heavy production area to a predominately home-use / nursery area! The planning, fore-thought, adaptive thinking, and a little bit of luck along the way seems to really be paying off!

  12. Great info. I do have some feedback. Your face and watching you speak must have taken up 90% of this 24:58 minute video. And while you have a great urban farmer type face I would have preferred 90% of the video images focused on plants equipment, tables, walls, lights glazing….inside and out…even if those images do not always directly correlate with what is being said at that moment. Make the greenhouse and everything in it the focus of what we see while we listen to you speak, please. Thank you for the information and keep up with the excellent content.
