  1. I'm a small town city girl but I love how you take care of your animals. You really love them and respect them and do what's best for each animal! I love learning things, never know when I may need to know some of these things. What will you be doing with the calf? Will he be a meat calf or will you sell him or stud him out? I never knew cows were such gentle loving creatures.

  2. My ducks live with the chicken. They had their own space, but one night when it was windy, their door had closed so they had gone in with the chickens instead and now they do it all the time.
Both my chicken and ducks go in when it gets dark and then I come and close the door after a while.
I just have half an acer and my chickens and ducks go free in the daytime.
Sorry for bad grammar and spelling but I'm a Swedish homesteader

  3. Yes, as they get older they tend to come back with more white in my experience, and the eggs also go from black to gray, and then to white. Great Video, I would love to get Cambells, but do not mail order chicks, and non are locally for sale in my area so I have muscovy for meat and pekin and runner for eggs, no more Cayuga.

  4. Hello from Texas Patara. That calf is the sweetest thing ever. Shout-out to Mr. Peaches ♥️ Tomorrow I pick up thirty baby chicks from the post office and in a few days we take them to their new house. I'm glad that your ducks are peacefully coexisting. We are getting guinea keets which apparently are the aliens of the bird world. But they will return to the coop if they are raised with chicks. Thanks for sharing. Hugs from Houston.

  5. Great video. I'm sure you know to keep an eye on the chicken hens since drakes are frisky by nature and may not be content with his one lady. Mine always did really well but some neighbors had to outnumber their drake 4-1 so he didn't hurt the chickens with his different anatomy. Good luck! And, you are right, that duck hen is a beauty.

  6. We are hoping that by brooding our chicks, ducklings, and goslings together they'll grow up getting along. We have one tiny pond, and are putting in another one, and hopefully will be installing a larger pond here soon for the ducks and geese to enjoy during the day (we plan on getting Toulouse geese and Cayuga and jumbo pekin ducks for meat purposes), and then a few different breeds of chicks till we discover our favorites. We do want the eggs, as well, so we may introduce some better layers later. I was thinking the welsh harlequin duck would be pretty nifty, too. I, personally, adore raccoons and opossums. I don't like seeing them abused or tormented or in pain. But, yer, I'll still kill the ones that go after my birds. We're trying to build fort knox for them, and then have an electric fence for them to graze in during the day when we can keep an eye on them

  7. Hi!! I love your channel.. BTW I'm from the Philippines! This is off topic but I'd like to ask for your opinion I built a chicken cage for my mama hen and her chicks should I put a perch in the cage? Is that advisable?

  8. I rely on you for all I learn from you because of the choices you've made (you have good judgment) and the experiences you've had that inform your choices and decisions. There are constant challenges and I can see how you ( and how I will have to when we have our farm) school your heart for the losses you suddenly experience and the losses you HAVE to experience because God leads you to make those sacrifices. I feel your love for all your animals (I think most of your subs love them too) and know that it takes strength and courage to successfuly operate a farm. Thank you for your example and all you share. xox

  9. We spent all day modifying our coop with a wire barrier. My drake has been trying to violently breed my chickens. All of them. Had we not separated them , I’d have dead chickens. So I have one drake and hen duck. I’m hoping my hen can handle the drake. Watching closely.
