VIDEO: Hardraw Force Waterfalls

Today we visit the wonderful Hardraw Force Waterfalls in Yorkshire. A movie location used in the film Robin Hood Prince of Thieves starring Kevin Costner.
This really was a lovely day out, and a fabulous memory. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

  1. Hi Adam, a trip to Gods own county. Spent a lot of time up there stunning country side. The Scout Group I was a member of had a connection with a local land owner and we camped alongside that river for two weeks very year which was 1951 to 1962. He stored our equipment in an out building so to get there it was just a bus trip on a Big Red Yorkshire bus. We spent time with hs game keepers, learnt how to snare rabbits, skin and cook them. Worked coppicing growing scout staves and walking sticks and built structures. !951 there was a competion to build a Skylon (Festival of Britain structure) and another year a Kontiki Raft. In some of the rock outcrops there is a number of caves which were interesting. Brilliant place to visit. Take care Mike

  2. Niagra Falls is about 10 times that. Noise and spray and water force. They actually give you waterproofs to wear when you go down to the lower areas. That one reminds me of Fall Creek Falls in Georgia. Only your falls are louder. LOL

  3. Nice day trip buddy!! I recall that part in the movie, lol, and yes….she perved out a bit there!! Niagra? Lmao, I saw a comment from an American friend of yours saying Niagra was 10 times that big. Hehehehehe perhaps on the American side! On the Canadian side, it would be 1000x bigger. Went on the Maid Of The Mist as a young man, and it was very cool to be that close. Soaking wet….but cool:))
