Id incorporate natives into your landscape. Nice to have food but should give back to our land
I would also plant some fruit pecan and walnut trees.
Deer don't like things that are different. Like cheap wire fence with white strips of cloth tied to it, or even a scare crow. lol yeah just put stips of cloth ties on that barb wire fence. They don't like movement. otherwise there's always freezer camp
so exciting! We are in the process of selling our current home. Purchasing land we love to build. everything will be a start over. so it will take some time like you said. Observe. I think Rosemary, lavender, any medicinal herbs as well as culinary. 🙂
Bar of Irish spring soap around the gardens they don't like the smell of Sapp
My uncle used to go to the barber shop in town and they would give him all the hair cuttings and put them in my aunts old pantyhose and hang them on the fence in several places, so the smell of humans woud keep the deer out of his peas
plant a spot of clover away from everything else
Put salt bins, plant some stuff away from your garden for them to eat . I do this here in Wv for my garden. Plus fence it in good . But if they have food away from the garden. They wont need to eat off yours lol . Good luck n love the look of the new farm. Good luck n keep listening to the spirits in the wind .
i hope you have your cows milk for your immune
system.
Good advice about waiting 1 or 2 years before making any permanent changes.
Solar power all the way! You have a really good layout for solar panels!
All I know is to plant things like flowers and plants the deer don't like around the outskirts of the large garden.
I am new, 2 months, to your channel. Could you translate the saying on your hat,Please?
Herbs aside of hour if south side
,
a simple radio works the best for me
I was wondering if you changed your mind about putting in a garden now that we have the virus/quarantine going on.
I am fairly new to watching your videos. Since the passing of my husband I thought the world would come to an end for me. Life happens. Looking at anything and everything on line that popped up, I happened upon one of your videos. The video was the one of something or someone nudging you to move . For the first time in a year and a half, I had a feeling of connection. Can’t explain it or understand it but the overwhelming feeling of feeling at home. Peaceful. I wake up in the morning waiting to see your next video. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos and bringing a little sunshine into this house.
I'm impressed with the lady who does hard work as yourself but yet put her in a pair pearls and she's good to go
Congratulations!
So happy for you. Marvelous homestead. Enjoy the journey.
Lots a deer burger and high fences with electric…. get the biggest charger you can buy.
I think herbs and edible flowers
Makes total sense to watch the land for the first year.
Deer meat is really good for you. I have a small Homestead and can’t raise all the meat that we need, so winter time is for hunting.
Deers depth perception is not good, a double fence line works on a garden.
