We started all ur seeds at once, why did we do it? Because there is something economists aren’t telling you about the current food supply chain.

good video thank you for be there …!!
thank you for making this video for all of us
How would a beginner decide how many seeds to start right now indoors? What do you suggest buying since trifecta is sold out? Trying to watch all of your videos and follow all of your advice, but there is so much to learn so quickly. I have some seeds but would like more. I see you are also sold out of those. Any idea when you may have some in stock or other suggestions? What to fill raise beds with right now when starting from scratch and stores are closed or limited?
When I start my seeds inside I get so many little, what I call, gnats; is there a way to prevent this when starting seeds inside the house. I have started watering from below and that seem to help a little but they are still there.
Luke, you said you sifted your staring soil through a 1/2” mesh then added Trifecta; worm castings and fine Perlite and Vermiculite; however, what you did not say is what ratios you mixed the component into the soil. Could you please tell us the ratio of soil to Trifecta, worm castings, Perlite and Vermiculite? Thank YOU!
I understand where you are coming from, but all of this fear has no real basis on fact, you only create a panic…
We also must consider panic buying. It's hard to account for that. Fortunately we'll have our fresh vegetables won't we?
Your book link isn't working for me. It says page not found!
I have lisented almost half way of your video and my head is tire from listening all of that fast talking giving general explanations and opinios and not going to the point. I am gone. Not all were born with the gift of public speaking. Sorry
The content might be good but, your speache is tiring and confusing.
I wish you do some video editing so its easier to follow. Putting a list of crops on the screen would be great and then you have highlight on each as you mention the seed. That way people can focus on what really is important with each crop and your content gets more concise.
I live in south east Texas and I have not heard of 90% of the plants you talk about. I have been gardening for a long time. I have a very small in ground garden and several large containers that I plant in. I enjoy your videos.
Luke – thank you. I bought seeds I still needed for this year from MIGardener. I have probably 40 tomato plants started – way more than I am ever going to need – I will be passing them on to my neighbors. as well as flowers – lots of flowers, and then lettuces spinach and kale – which I have been eating since mid February. keep sharing your know how. take care
Hello, I've just recently discovered your channel and so far I'm loving it. I've just recently got into gardening and am researching a ton! You have a lot of knowledge and I appreciate you sharing it with us. I've been looking for a proper germination station, for the lack of a better word. I've just watched a few of your videos, and you've mentioned using a bigger container for starting the seeds in. There aren't many premade kits that will fit the 3 in containers you recommended in another video. I have however found the products that you're using in this video, except the clear dome for the top. I think they're called germination domes. I thought that I'd leave a comment asking if there is a dome that fits the 10 x 20 tray that you're using. Again thank you for all your knowledge, stay safe, and keep up the good work!
Where do you get so many trays/ seed starting square things?
Where do you get your grow trays?
Off topic but that shelf in the back ground is cool I had some issues this year finding adjustable shelves for my grow lights and the key mod shelves you got behind you would solve that issue for me.
2 months after posting my garden is thriving. I didn't find this channel until after planting (I'm in SoCal) my first container garden. But yeah supply chain!!!!
I'm fairly new to your channel but absolutely love it. I think that you and Ice Age farmer should to a show together. There is no food in this country and they are trying to destroy are meat industry.
Living in Michigan, I was thankful that I ordered my seeds in February. People panicked and emptied the seed shelves (as your sold out store shows!) My kids and I planted more than 30 flats of seedlings this year due to friends worrying that they wouldn't be able to buy plants from the closed greenhouses! Sooooooo many tomatoes! With the changed schedule, my seedlings were the best I've done in ten years and the garden is growing strong! Canning season will be here soon.
I'm slowly buying packets of edible plant seeds and some other types of plants to go with my crops. Home-grown food is always better than store-bought. Sometimes it's actually better to start up some crops out of season so by the time the plants are ready to produce their fruits, there'll be a whole lot of foliage for the vegies and fruit to come out of. So I'll basically end up with some baby greens, which will eventually fully progress to being a fully matured food harvest.
At this point, I'm seeing both the lower quality produce, and high prices 🙁 What do you think about how the commercial vegetable farms are doing now? (Also, how many different seed packets was that?? Can you tell us how much you spent on your garden this spring?)
I missed this 5 months ago, but I am concerned enough about supply chain that I already bought all my seeds for next year's garden. Glad people are thinking ahead.
The world: We may end up with food shortages
Luke: Hold my seeds
For sure….look at what happened with toilet tissue and other paper supplies.
You can grow full sized peppers in Michigan…I am assuming you life in Michigan.
It's crazy, now a year has past from this video was done. Milk… there were many places that milk was dumped… the supply chain was shocked with no workers to process and bottle it. Cow's had to continue to produce so there was to much milk and no way to sell it.
I am looking for a professional gardener to give advice on growing on a shaded apartment balcony with seedlings and what pots to start them in. We can't use the traditional methods I'm sure.
