  1. So I am watching this 2 months later. I live in KY where I feel like there are some people who still practiced some of the old ways. But being self sustaining is hard work. Too big a majority of younger population are just too lazy to push through and do all this work. They spend 4-5 hours of each day monkeying with a phone in their hand. I hope and pray that the 40 and under crowd in the rest of the country are not like this. But that is reality here.

  2. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I have always believed those people consider to be "less" are often the unsung heroes not only in times of need but always. Before this virus, I wanted to start growing my own food and canning again. I believe growing your own food is such an amazing gift from God most of us have put aside for convenience. Keep doing what you do. Keep showing us how. I will continue to watch and support!

  3. IM SO GLAD I CLICKED ON THIS VIDEO. oh my gosh. Rise and shine now has a whole new meaning to me. Thank you so much for your inspiration. I just started gardening about a month ago and I am trying not to get discouraged.

  4. Your video was an encouragement to me for the times we are in. It has reminded me how the light of God is always brighter than the darkness. Thank you

  5. Love your "Rise and Shine" design. Too bad I don't see your t-shirts on the link. Love your channel! Thanks for hanging out with us. Loving the journey.

  6. Man this touched my heart!!! as my son would say, "that is sooo sweet to my heart." wish there were more people with this outlook!! thank you so much!! i'm not crying, your crying haha

  7. Hi, Debbie here….Jess, you put a Video out a few months back where you are talking about what it’s like to connect with other Gardner’s and why we thrive for it..I think you were in the outside garden in between the rows..I should of showed it to my hubby then,,but really want to now,,,he is a non homesteader..wants nothing to do with the lid style …I so desperately crave….ild like to watch your video with him because I feel you said it so well..why we get so excited to find someone else that gets why we garden….thanks for any help you can give me on locating it….and THANK YOU for All that you do for us u tubers out here….you have changed my life and brought me closer back to God….

  8. How beautiful!! It is just what I need to hear. After escaping from a abusive mariage and loosing all my possessions I ended up in Chile looking for a job as a professor but universitities here are "complicated". Anyway, in my pass, everytime that I had a bad moment, I worked in my garden. And here I need that so, today with you message I feel I was back to a place were I feel protected and safe. Thak you, thank you for giving me hope. I don´t know were and when but one day I will win the lottery and everything will be ok. For today I got you message. Thank you

  9. My mom sang that same song, Rise and Shine. I don't know about world changing as I have taken produce in to work and couldn't give it away. People were like, "how do I know it is safe to eat?" Does the USDA inspect your food? It is so frustrating because I grew the food, I ate the food and here I am, still alive. So I quit taking vegetables in for free. It was so disheartening to have people turn down free food, to demand that I have USDA approval for FREE FOOD. I will compost it first. Did you know that you can't give free food to the homeless through the local food banks? They won't accept anything that isn't USDA inspected. So sad.

  10. That was so incredibly beautiful and still so pertinent today than it was when you posted it. Thank you for your light, for your encouragement and for the gift you are to this world.
