  1. I LOVE sunchokes! I just use whatever upcycled large containers I have laying around to plant them in to deal with the invasive issues. I'd recommend that tub you were wondering what you'd put stuff in a couple of videos ago. I've also gathered several of those backyard black compost bins that people were throwing away and used the bottoms of those. Seemed to really stay in one place. I've just planted organic ones I've gotten from a market around this time of year. Seems to have always worked well up here in zone 8b. Good luck. Best ever roasted starch. Number one requested garden crop from my husband for several years running.

  2. I can totally relate to this! I constantly overextend myself with my big plans but I can't stop because that's who I am. My poor husband is always overwhelmed with my projects

  3. So much of your spirit reminds me of myself. The journey of gardening to the journey of dreaming. I love that. I don’t have a root cellar (North Texas gardener over here) but I’m determined to find a way to build something in our next house for my food storage. We have ten acres and in June we will be here for 2 years. We are just not getting things really going. I have 50×70 garden that we are still getting prepped and I know come fall I’ll want to build a greenhouse for next year lol. My bedroom is full of plants right now. I enjoy watching Chelsea from Little Mountain Ranch. While her zone is much colder then ours (im on cusp of 7b and 8a) I love learning from her homesteading wisdom and experience. She has great food preservation knowledge. I can’t wait to see how your high tunnel turns out. Question for you: through your dreaming and figuring out the process how do you and your hubby communication through that? I find myself getting discouraged sometimes when I’m dreaming with my husband. While we are good at communication there are some things we get aggravated over and I’m always so curious how others handle the planning process of homestead life. Thanks for sharing your life with us as always. Blessings from Texas!

  4. I agree with your plan for putting some more cardboard and straw on the edge of the in ground gardens. It will help with your weed control and like you said give the plants some straw to vine out on.

  5. Hi my awesome creator of gardens always love watching your channel you always are so sweet and nice you and your husband love your beautiful children to you always have such informative videos I always enjoy them they’re never boring your key garden it looks like it’s going to be gorgeous. And your husband did an awesome job and closing the garage and making it water safe hopefully

  6. When your husband show that you don’t want me to turn the lamp to make the most beautiful garden and enough to feed your family you’re around it looks like now with the greenhouse going to be going up and it looks like you could go to the farmers market a little bit and sell some produce if you want to you have a huge garden space my only question is what do you do with all the food you grow it looks like you’re growing more than you both could possibly eat in a year is that true or not?

  7. The roses are so beautiful growing up the trellis .Cannot believe how much food you guys are going to be growing on your property I don’t know how you’re going to keep up with everything. Good thing your kids are getting big and they can start doing a lot of work in the garden with you

  8. Maybe what you should do more I’m thinking of it maybe you should put a sign out front come and pick some tomatoes and so much money for a basket of tomatoes then you don’t have to even pick them or go to a farmers market people just come to your garden pick the fresh fruits and vegetables they want and give you the money if I walk away. Maybe that’s what you should do. I do not know what you’re going to do with all that garden space and all that food you’re going to grow how are you possibly going to process it even if you want to canned everything up that’s a lot of garden space

  9. Use a kiddy pool 4 sunchokes n yes delish, harvest after first frost then only what u need…. They soften fast but last in ground….. N the best LATE bloomers pollenators love them…. This year I've femented no results yet…. BTW they grow at least 7 ft… Tall.understand from sunflower family??
