  1. I don't think there is a finer word in all the world to me…than Daddy. My dad means to much to me. And I feel/think that dads don't get enough love and support in our world. I kinda teared up hearing your chiddlers call out for Miah with cries of, "Daddy's home!" <3 On another note, how on Earth are you wearing long sleeves and a jacket in July, girl!? hehe 😛

  2. Hack for your cherry tomatoes Jess : put them between two lids or plates, slice through all of them at once with a long enough knife and you can get it done quicker

  3. I put the tomatoes on the trays cut side up, sprinkle them with sea salt & dehydrate til crispy, They are so good we eat them like potato chips. Also, to slice 8-10 cherry or grape tomatoes at once: put them on a bowl lid, lid inside up, put another same size lid on top of the tomatoes, inside down & slide a sharp knife horizontally through the space between the lids. BIG time saver!

  4. Aha! Your pumpkin story of being overrun with pumpkins growing out of compost heap (btw, I agree with the notion to eat pumpkins any time they grow, not just in Autumn) reminded me of my silly funny pumpkin story. I have my allotment only since last year, so in Autumn, when eating some store bought pumpkins I got excited to save the seeds and plant them out on my plot this year. But I got lazy/forgetful enough to never mark what they were, as drying on my windowsill, so this spring I got 2 types of "mysterious" pumpkins to grow. Out of 6 starter plants (3 of each variety) only one survived and got planted out on my plot. I didn't even know what it might be, I was hoping for a medium flattish dark green pumpkin with warts, as it was good for storing and had pleasant orange flesh. To my surprise, the plant start producing fruit looking like pale courgette (zucchini). It was a shock, because all my courgette starters died this year (Spring was cold and long). As it grew bigger I finally remembered, the other "mystery pumpkin" I ate last year was a marrow… So yes, the pumpkin, that happened to be a courgette is, in fact, a marrow, hahahahaha!!!

  5. In Australia we eat pumpkins as a savoury vegetable all year round. Steamed, baked/roasted, boiled, made into soup – even, occasionally, in scones. It's really only in pies if you know Americans or are one! My brother in law is from the States so my sister has a Thanksgiving get together every year and we get to eat pumpkin pie, then. I love it and think you should eat it all year round 🙂

  6. Sooo special..what a blessing sweet Miah must feel with a welcome home like that!that was precious..nice to see the love between u two also..never had a yellow melon..looks good.ive had the worst luck with getting a ripe melon this yr..soo disappointing!
