Great idea Old pallets make a good growing wall for vertically growing. Pallets are usually free, However they dry out quickly and would be better suited for drip irrigation and problem solved. For those who have a tiny space to grow you can grow more than you think if you go up instead of out.
How do your strawberries in planters handle the winter? I've only ever grown them in the ground. Thank you!

Ummm, this isn't really growing strawberries vertically*. This is growing strawberries in long beds or troughs that are mounted on walls – that doesn't quite make it "vertical". ZipGrow, for example, is vertical-growing, and there are other ideas where the actual GROWING is vertical — this is just "*mounting long beds (with conventional growth mode) on a wall".
