  1. I do use a compost tumbler. Yes, the drainage can be a bit annoying.
    However, I put the bin at the side of one of my flower gardens so that the drainage from it goes into the garden.
    This allows the flowers to get some of the minimal organics that come out with the excess water while keeping the bugs away from where I dont want them.

  2. I have been teaching new housemate my permaculture ways. I explained that "anything that was once alive" can go in the bokashi bin. Yes! Even meat, fish, cheese, citrus, onions, bread, leftover dinner, hair, dust, cat vomit. He was pretty surprised at that. Just not big bones – I just bury them at the back of the yard.

  3. I use my tumbler more as a storage for kitchen scraps. It's placed right off the deck. Walk out the kitchen and drop it in. When I need to make another pile (of 3 perpetual ones) I use those. Neighbor adds too

  4. I've NEVER gardened before, am moving into a room in my sister's apartments, and LOOOVE onion, mint and anything healthy and edible.. what should my first steps be before I even get anything?? Thanks man <3 need something easy, and able to grow with no or little natural light source;

  5. BSF are a fantastic part of the ecosystem. They will rapidly breakdown the smellier high nitrogen foods and leave the rest for the worms. They're really not the "pest" this video seemed to imply they are.

  6. Oh no much you waste can make good Korean Pon Chon (side dishes like Spanish do with tapas) like sweet potato stems or zucchini leaves etc. yummy good food 🙂
