  1. I rent my house so I can’t do a big Garden but I do have a small green house and I have been planting in 5 gallon buckets the hardest thing for is affording the soil I need for them anyone have a cheap way to get some?? I want to say thanks to all the homesteaders for all the tips and videos I have already learn a lot I started gardening last year hopefully this year will be a better year for my garden God bless you all

  2. As someone who has no idea what she’s doing, but watching as many YouTube videos to be as proactive as I can- I thank you! My husband went to military school when he was a boy and has a world of knowledge. Together we can make sure our babies are fed, at the end of the day that’s what it’s about for me!

  3. Thank you for the encouragement and inspiration. This video gave me the courage to start my channel to document our return to our homestead. I love your videos and the videos of folks like you. I am gaining knowledge, strength and confidence each day to live a more self reliant life. Keep those videos coming and know that you are making a difference.

  4. Bless you and your whole family…Good message…we all need to help one another and become self sufficient…bring our supply chain back to our back yard….

  5. I live in a small coastal town and it's been so nice seeing how generous people are right now. I've seen people giving away free eggs, soil, compost, vegetable starts, offering to help with the labor of building a garden.

  6. Bless you, Patara. One of the first revelations I had while planting was no matter who are, if you want to grow food you have to kneel to the dirt……

  7. I so wish we were neighbors… I can watch a million videos but I'm still always so nervous when I do something for the first time! It would be so nice to have a neighbor who didn't mind sharing knowledge amd giving guidance!

  8. This country was built on neighbors helping neighbors. Farmers rotated from farm to farm, planting/ harvesting, barn raising…. time to get back to that. Country Blessings!

  9. Went looking for my future homestead, wow land is so expensive! I think I’ll have to choose a small place to raise chickens and give up on having pigs or cows.

  10. City dweller here, but I still love watching your positive, sometimes tough but thoughtful broadcasts on YouTube! You are very special. Keep up the good work! ❤️

  11. You are amazing! I grew up on family land with 300 acres that everyone shared. Some would plant corn, some squash, some beans, etc. Everyone helped each other and shared everything. Now I am 28, and am buying my first piece of property, looking for that small piece that has conditions to have a garden and chickens etc. My fiance is from Detroit and just doesn't understand why this is so important to me. Here we are starting from scratch, but determined to get it done!

  12. Patara, you are amazing! We need to go back to the basics of small communities and being neighborly! My hubby will be retiring from the military in three years and we want to find a place to homestead and possibly find a community of homesteaders. Would be great if we can organize so we have a variety of skills/trades. I don't have a lot of time to research b/c I have 4 small children so any info people have would be much appreciated.

  13. I would like to learn, do you know any place where we can learn for a few weeks or someone I can invite out here to teach us. I’d pay for their service and let them stay in my home to teach us we know it’s time to learn just don’t know how tried doing a garden in the backyard and began to grow into other things and I can’t tell the weeds from the plants!! Help
