I mulch my beds with wood chips and I think it could work and still be pretty in a cottage garden! It's a great weed deterrent and does a great job of keeping the soil moist.

I recently, like in the last 6 wks discovered this channel as I was looking for ways to better my small garden and how to maximize my grow space. Love it! About to put in my first trellis for snow peas and pile beans!
I do think peppers get stunted. I have some planted now and they aren’t popping up because our nights are still too cold here.
Don’t feel bad. I’m zone 8a cusp of 7b and still haven’t transplanted my peppers either. I’m hoping to do it next week. We have so many outside projects going on. Do you have a video on how you set up your main garden? I love that pergola and all your wind chimes. So peaceful.
