  1. My poor tomatoes are not doing well at all! They were extremely small to begin with and it's been 2 weeks since I planted and a whole lot of them look wilty like after you first plant them. We have had nice light soaking rains and I enriched the soil with Epsom salt and worm CASTINGS 2 weeks before I planted and a fertilizer for tomatoes when I planted! I don't know what to do for them! I'm thinking they were just to small this year. I'm hoping they will perk up and start growing but I'm going to have to replace a few of them! My peppers are going great as are my cucumbers and potatoes. The peas didn't come up. Grrr. Guess I get busy out there tomorrow! I know how to trim them now when they start growing! Thank you! You always make me smile with your sunny disposition and how you talk to the plants and to us. Needed a little pep talk today as I'm discouraged, so thank you for that also!! Many blessings Patera…..

  2. Been doing the same trimming on our tomato plants. Working very well. We started about a month earlier than you due to great weather and have lots of cherry tomatoes nearly ready to harvest. The larger tomatoes will be ready a bit later but doing great as well.

  3. love being shown how to do it rather than listen to other people say what to do!!! I also followed the advice on the spikes with the plastic bottles last year and no blight!!!! Thank you!!!

  4. If I may add to what you said. And your advice is sound. What gardeners both seasoned and new need to know is this. Your end goal is to produce good fruit. A large, beautiful and dark green tomato plant looks great but it does not necessarily produce good fruit. A tomato plant can only produce so much fruit. You are much better off to remove suckers than to leave them on. You will not get any more pounds of tomatoes, you will get a greater number of small low quality tomatoes. It is extremely important to not let your plants go with out enough water. Keep the soil evenly moist

  5. Thanks for showing how to trim the tomato plants. This year I am trying tulle for many uses in the garden from pests to loosely tying up plants. Finding my happy in the garden. All the best.

  6. Miss Patara, I've been watching your videos for years now. I never see ads on your videos. I sure hope you are monetizing your videos. You sure do deserve to get paid for all the informational, entertaining and thought provoking work you do. Not trying to get in your business, just didn't understand why I never see an ad. God bless you and keep on keepin on! Love what your're doing.

  7. I forgot to put an egg in the whole first! I've got lots of powdered milk though. Also, does it help anything to sprinkle food grade diatomaceous earth around the plants?

  8. Question would it hurt to dig up the tomatoes and replant them with the mix you suggested? I have planted them with nothing currently.
