VIDEO: The 'Golden Rule' of Pest Control Will Change How You Garden

The golden rule of gardening is one that is adopted from many years of farming. This rule is based off of the rule of 10% and how your garden can be completely organic while co-existing with pests. Check out our new clothing line! http:www.freshpickedapparel.com

  1. Nice intro. My Tomato Horn Warms are little punks right now. They are like ninjas hiding in plain sight. Just curious, do you guys have a water feature? I read a tip in your book that said birds are probably going for your crops because they are thirsty… or maybe that just applies to tomatoes?

  2. The world is so weird. I had tomato horn worms on my peppers and now I have these small little frogs that are living on the top little halves of my peppers and I think they’re eating the tomato horn worms. Should I be concerned the frogs are walking all over the peppers I eat?

  3. I am really enjoying your videos! You know so much about gardening, and I am just starting out, so your knowledge and the way you share it is amazing – your aquarium analogy rings very true for me, thanks for putting in the time and effort to make these videos!!!

  4. I felt like you over-talked it. Try the golden rule of 10%. Limit your side tangents and side explanations to 10% of the overall video length.

  5. Great information. Thank you for sharing. I have never heard of this golden rule in the past. I will be using this information in the future. God bless America.
Bye the way, what is a good type of lettuce for hot, humid areas. I love lettuce and I would love to grow any type of lettuce in The Philippine Islands.

  6. I know this is an old video but was wondering about getting rid of slugs.
I tried DE,slug pellets, picking by hand,YUCK & they over took all my leafy vegetables.Do you have any tips. Also squash bugs,I’m about to give up since I’m losing the battle.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    PsLove your channel,just subscribed

  7. Hey Luke, love the channel!

What should I use for bugs? I have no deer, moles or mice.

I have beetles eating my green bean leaves, white flies and tomato horn worms.

    Thanks!

  8. Makes total sense. The hard part is the starting point for a beginner that has small garden Not yet established, and the coming years of perrinial plants will help greatly in that 10% battle.

  9. We don’t all have the space to plant a zillion of everything. This is not a solution for pest control. Maybe for ppl with giant farms but not us regular ppl who have backyard gardens. Ur getting way commercial about gardening. Families with backyard gardens watch u not ppl with acres n acres of commercial plants. So annoying

  10. Great point! Its the 80/20 rule . Problem is when you don't have space for more and you only have a few plants and they are getting attacked! Love your videos!
