  1. All of the Bonnie plants that I bought (5 of them) were not what they were supposed to be. I got a jalapeño for a green bell pepper. It was okay but it makes me wonder if something went wrong at the Bonnie factory.

  2. When there is blushing at the bottom of the tomato – they are fair game to pick. The tomato has everything it needs from the plant at that point to have identical taste as 100% vine ripened. Those extra few days on the vine do NOTHING.
    This is a myth

  3. I'm the family foodie nerd! But I'd like to think I'm not a snob, like today for lunch. We had pizza. Now I can make a crust from scratch that just turns out so lovely that we usually double it to make brwadsticks too. But today's pizza is a sams club take and bake-they over made the cheese pizzas and had them all marked down to $4.99. I did bring it home and add ham and mushrooms and extra cheese from the store but I sauté sweet bell peppers from this summer that I sliced and froze and also some of the last of our home grown Ailsa Craig onions and home grown hardneck garlic.
    Turned out lovely.
While we try to grow/cook/buy organic and local-i don't beat myself up over easy meals either. Its not worth the stress.
Y'all have a nice valentines day.
I am making up for it by having shrimp and homegrown asparagus and maybe some venison steaks. Its valentines day and due to covid no prime rib dinners out. Oh the restaurant is open but poor hubs didn't think about they had reservations thst had to be made weeks ago.
