  1. Hi Jess! I planted American Purple Top Rutabagas this year (zone3). This is my first time planting these…. and I think it might be the wrong seed. They are vining…. have yellow flowers like a squash… and today I found a fruit that looks like a young squash. Any ideas? Could it be possible my seeds were mislabeled?

  2. So interesting! Up here in Quebec, Canada, I had much success last year with lettuces, arugula, and greens. Will do that again along with some cabbage and winter radishes. Yum!

  3. I've never planted brassica's from seed starts in the Fall before. Living in Texas, we have a pretty long growing season and I can just direct sow seed in September. This year I'm trying them from starts because we always get a really cold early winter after an intense hurricane season. I was worried about starts for my broccoli and collards, but I'm a bit more at ease since you are doing them, too. First freeze here is around Thanksgiving, so I will be harvesting my brassica's for Thanksgiving dinner. So excited!

  4. Haha yes we will always enable growing all the things!
Life ended up getting crazy this summer, so I only got one tomato plant in the ground. So I’m really going to be hitting it pretty hard for a fall garden this year.

  5. Hey Jess and Family! I just started to watch your video's because I am extremely interested in trying to get my own garden. I finally broke down and ordered a small set of seeds for this coming fall/winter. Since I am in central Florida I have basically until January 2021 for my first frost, and I don't think it'll get down super cold. But I am growing some baby spring lettuce mix, some italian Parsley, garlic chives and Blue Knight Kale all from Hoss. I'm hoping that it all goes well! I will be sowing them this weekend hopefully. I've opted to go with your plastic greenhouse/tub raised grower. I can't decide which one would be best down here because it will be hot for quite a few more months. If you have any tips that would be greatly appreciated! The only experience I have is popping my grocery store green onion's in a cup of water to prolong them/grow a smaller green onion to use later in the week(s).

  6. I love your clips. It is like sitting with a friend and chatting, with a coffee. You are a very warm person, and very kind in sharing so much with us. Thank you.

  7. I would be so incredibly grateful if you did a video dedicated to melons! This is my second year experimenting with growing annual fruit and melons are something I’m struggling a bit with. I just got a variety of different mini melons from Baker Creek and would love to learn more about direct sowing vs transplanting, what your favorite variety is, growing on a trellis, what to use to cover the ground if you choose not to trellis them, etc.

  8. I literally have to watch this again…back to back…overwhelming knowledge…seriously….your'e quick and you just keep it coming… holy Carrot!!!!! or brassica one lol !!!!!!

  9. This was such an amazing video! So educational and inspiring! I started really gardening and seed saving when I came across your video 3 years ago. You have helped me so much!!!!

  10. Hey Jess. I'm going through some older videos on Fall gardening :). My starts ended up getting pretty leggy and when I tried to up pot them, I feel like I may have killed about 1/2 of what I started. Is there any advice you have for up potting fall plants (or should I have not done that at all). This is our first time trying a fall garden and I'm so excited for this journey! Thank you for all of the advice, for all of the information and for being such a big cheerleader for all of us newbies! Your book is amazing and I just love you and your family!
