Today we harvested our Silver Queen sweet corn. We harvested all the ears that were ready and left several to mature for about another week.

  1. Hey how's the pond doing? Did you do impatiens again this year? I got that idea from you! I implemented some elephant ears this year. They reaaaaaalllly filter the water and look very nice.

  2. Beautiful harvest.Thats my fave corn.I planted some too during lockdwn here at my apartments backyard.Good thing is the Landlord allowed me. since no classes as all schools are closed due to Covid19. I passed time planting some vegetables. My white corn are ready bt the rats are eating them together with my peanuts.Lots of okra and watermelon also..Love frm this Pacific Island girl bt studying in the Philippines.

  3. I love silver queen corn. So sweet. Yall had a really nice harvest. Hopefully, the rest that was left will mature and you can get them. Yall must have a huge freezer haha. Are yall still raising the catfish this year? I don't recall seeing a video on it yet.

  4. Thats what I planted ''silver queen'' and you have done very well with it. My lack of knowing this new place was a big factor in my failure. I planted the corn, green beans, crook necks, black beauties, and 4 different types of sunflowers in a 3 sisters garden. The problem was once the daily rain started and the TS came through, it just holds water. I lost everything except sunflowers and about 8 stalks of corn, all of which were at the high side of the plot. it was very discouraging but a good lesson learned. Just next to the 3 sisters plot, I had about 8 sweet bananas, 15 okra, and maybe 10 bush bean plants. Only the okra has survived and it only about 2 ft high. I know I need to fix this problem and will work on it this fall/winter.
