VIDEO: 5 Garden MISTAKES You DON’T want to make in July and August!

It’s midsummer in the garden and a few fixable mistakes can make all the difference between bigger current and future harvests. The gardening season is either half gone, or we have half a growing season left. We still have time to plant some summer veggies and extend our harvests as deep into fall as possible, plus we can start planting our fall veggies as well.

Thanks for the kind words and support 😁🐕❤️

  1. Hi I have a question for you. So it took me until this season to figure out how to keep the birds from eating my tomatoes, I learned that they are looking for water to drink so we got a birdbath. Problem solved. NOT. We had crows showing up and leaving lots of food particles, tree leaves, and even dead featherless baby birds in our bird bath!!! So we decided to scrap the birdbath! I feel bad for the birds but did not want to see dead baby birds in there either! In the meantime I purchased a large fake eagle that we move around the yard to scare off the crows. Do you have problems like that with your bird baths?

  2. You need to breed Tuck (I'm sure he'd be okay with this) and train a small Squadron of Garden Tucks. Great video, as always – especially the part about planning for next year and trimming back the raspberries… but hat about chop and drop? is there a risk of disease? I don't see you do that much. Cheers, Phil

  3. I live in south Jersey and My squash and Zucchini have not produced that well this year. But I planned eggplant this year they have produced well. I really enjoy your advice.

  4. Hey so you say mulch but doesn't that also allow pests to have a nice area in your garden as well? I have been ravaged by squash bugs and of course now I'm going to plant other squash so they can eat those instead but doesn't having debris and mulch give them the ideal environment??

  5. I'm wondering what kind of tree is "soo lee? is that an asian pear? if so where could I purchase this?
also the grape you named einstein or something you said was really good tasting? I would appreciate the names of these fruit. thank you I really enjoy your show, I learn a lot. thanks
