VIDEO: Cut Flower Farm Tour | Dahlia and Zinnia Abundance

The flower farm looks amazing, we finally got the summer dry hot weather our region has been waiting for, and our cut flowers have started producing more than we can pick. We grow Benary’s Giant Zinnias, Lime Queen Zinnias, Rocket Snapdragons, Dinnerplate Dahlias, Double Click Cosmos, and lots of filler like Cinnamon Basil. Make sure to watch it all to find Serina’s protip on how to get early white filler flowers for your garden! We put a lot of work into this video, and it means a lot if you like and share this video to help our channel grow.

Nobody reads this far down so Im going to pitch my personal goal in this space. I believe that we all need to pick a specific thing that is important to us that will benefit the world. For me, I want people to grow and eat food that is pesticide free. Although I constantly squish bugs like Colorado potato beetles in my farm, I would never use pesticide to kill them. The message I want to send with this channel, is that its possible to do all the growing we do, pesticide free, just like us. Also, a secondary message would be to pick something that is important to you, and try to get your message out there as well.

  1. Trust me…we are here for the flowers! As a first year flower farmer it’s so nice to “visit” other farms and learn what works. I have 32 varieties of zinnia and can’t stop myself. I’m starting a hybridization program because they’re such a wonderful flower to breed. I have to catch up with your other videos, but I’m already super grateful for your content. Your hard work shows and I love what you do!

  2. I just found your channel on Saturday. Love the channel, binge watching. Your both so talented. The spiky yellow and red rooster comb flowers in can't remember the name you said you have issues growing them that might be an issue with root spread. The dirt might be to tight for good roots and there fore the plant isn't growing and flowering as much.
The dahlias are gorgeous. However saying the dinner plates are useless kinda incorrect, they are great for giant bouquets like in mansions and in hotel lobbies or at banquet halls , the same with the long trailing amaranth . You just gotta find the right client. And some of the dinner plates can be used in the tighter bouquets with the florist foam in a bowl or shallow vase instead of the traditional glass vases.
All just a suggestion, your doing wonderful stuff.

  3. I am of Italian heritage and from southern New Jersey. Grandfather grew liatris for the New York markets and I would help him. He had regular galvanized flower buckets and he stored in an airconditioned garage and if the market price was right he would get them to market quickly. I pronounce basil different than you do and also a few other words. Hammonton–blueberry capital of the World.

  4. Hi Serina, I was amazed by your zinnia flowers and I tried them from seed for the first time. But the flowers of my zinnias ended up super small about 1". Also they are single blooms, not as the double rich colored giants on the pictures. The seeds are giant double enchantress and giant double violet queen from ferry morse. I live in central Texas zone 8b. Do you happen to know why my zinnias did that? Super grateful!!
