Great tips! Just wonder where do you get straw which is clean of all kind of harmful chemicals ??
I munched my pepper plant in a container when I planted it. A month later the mulch has turned into a great bio-mass. So….do I add more soil & then more mulch on top of the existing mulch, or do I remove the top layer of "mulch" , add soil and put the original mulch back in?
Do you add compost on top of your grass mulch? Or do you remove it first, then add?
Here in central Washington, where I live, it gets hot and dry during the summer. I don't even remember when the last rain happened. It might have been last month. I know that last year when I grew my veggies and flowers, I grew in fabric pots and grew a lot of stuff in each pot. The plants helped to shade the potting mix that I used. I used a water meter and stuck the probe in the soil every day. If the plants needed water, I would water them. During the early part of the summer, I could get by with watering every 2 or 3 days. By July and August, I had to water every day.

You seem to have missed my question on your last video about container gardening. I'll kindly post it again for you! "Hey do you have any of those onion tops you planted 5 months ago growing in those containers? We're looking forward to your update 3 of 5. After this long you should have an incredible crop of onions?" Thanks!
Summer heat is passing us by in Zone 5. The dog days are over. I'm wearing flannel in the mornings 🙂 Stay cool Jeff!
I like to mulch with cut grass but is it alright to much with cut grass that has some weeds in it?
Beautifully done video and great info!
Does keeping the soil moist help to keep the leaves and stalk of the plant less dry?
