VIDEO: Even MORE Peas For Shelling! VLOG

In this video, I show you some things that have been happening here on the Self Sufficient Me Homestead over the past few weeks whilst I pick a ton of peas! Including our new ducks and a novel way to deter birds from eating the vegetable garden.

Self Sufficient Me is based on our small 3-acre property/homestead in SE Queensland Australia about 45kms north of Brisbane – the climate is subtropical (similar to Florida). I started Self Sufficient Me in 2011 as a blog website project where I document and write about backyard food growing, self-sufficiency, and urban farming in general. I love sharing my foodie and DIY adventures online so come along with me and let’s get into it! Cheers, Mark 🙂

  1. Cockies trash everything. Within 5 minutes, they destroyed my verandah eating thru the wood in huge chunks. They came into my house and got into my tupperware in the kitchen, chewing thru the plastic, knocking heavy containers of food on the floor. Just madness!!! They are so beautiful to look at but ever so cheeky. Your backyard is amazing!!! Everything is so green.
