Urban Farmer has garlic. Shipping late September – October
I grew not so hot jalapenos and they lied! They are really hot!!! And my tam jalapenos are supposed to be mild……no extremely hot!! Do they get hotter as they are on the plant? Or did I not get the right seeds in the pkg? I have to say that my hubby and I love the KAJARI melons! OMG! so yummy! Like a cross between a cantaloupe and honeydew. Then last night we picked our first golden midget watermelon. Yummo! Will be growing both next year. We have been vultured over the other 11 KAJARI melons….ripen, ripen, ripen! Must have more! Lol. Everyone, grow them. You wont be sorry. Unless you dont grow them. Also am growing butternut squash. We have sooooo many on those plants of all sizes. Also grew sweet dumpling, and buttercup squash too. Never have grown these kinds before. Do you wait for the plants to die before harvesting them? Have been getting dozens of acorn squash off 2 plants. Also planted 2 pumpkin plants and have 6 basketball size ones. Thanks for all your seed info. Going to be even more adventurous next year!
sept 12th garlic says sold out
They are sold out.
Hi Jess! I have purslane with red/dark pink flowers that look similar to what you pointed out around the 2 1/2 minute mark. I know purslane with yellow flowers are edible and the red flowering are too according to your comment. Thank you for pointing the purslane out!
I am experimenting w/ grocery store organic garlic and Yukon gold potatoes from whole foods and garlic that is from USA stores such as Walmart. I am hoping that if I am able to grow them then there is no need to spend a lot of money buying seeded potatoes and garlic when you can simply spend 1.00 or less on garlic and a bag of potatoes for less than 5.00. I am hoping this works I saw people doing it and realize.
What do you do with your goat's? Milk or meat?
They are already sold out! I bought garlic from the store and will be planting them as soon as I rip my tomatoes out, they still have fruit, just green, so I think I'm going to just see if they'll ripen on the porch, I'm in Michigan so I need to get the soil ready for the garlic and I have limited beds. 🙂 Thank you for your video.
Wowzers!! They are already out of garlic! Girl, you can sell anything!
How lucky are you to have a husband say “I think you should get more [insert animal]” LOL
Oh, guys…. I have an issue. Having a tiny balcony (pride owner of 3 french bean and 6 pea plants this season) and dreaming about a garden. And whenever Jess mentions a nice variety of a plant – like Craig's grande – I wanna buy seeds so badly, but you can't just buy seeds when you are so unsure when you can get your dream garden… it can be like 2-3 years. I'm also growing a wishlist of plant varieties for the future.
unrequited love
Putting some large water reservoirs in the high-tunnel should also moderate the temperature rather well
Juuu funny !!!!
Hi Jess and Miah! I'm so excited to see your new goats! How fun for you. The little chicks were adorable. I'd want to keep them all. Thank you for sharing! It was also nice seeing Gabe. He's such a beautiful guy!
UMMM OMG!!! So excited to hear about Chipotle seasoning!! Could you PLEASE do a follow up video on this!!
A dear friend that had a greenhouse used black metal barrels, filled with water, to keep her greenhouse warm in the winter and we are in zone 5a.
I had a zucchini that was spicy hot, it is growing next to my jalapeno, and Serrano peppers plants, is that crazy or what?
Jess you had me laughing hysterically at the end when you were watching your goats & mentally writing a story line, because I could relate but you have given me insite, I think I might put some of my stories on paper & see if I make a good writer thank you for all you do & your inspiration, take care
I am from Alaska. I just read a report that Alaska is expecting an extremely cold winter this year.
Jess I just learned that peppers are perennials. You can over winter them in your house after cutting them back. I'm going to try it this winter.
Filaree garlic farm for Washington State. My local CSA farm stand had seed garlic today so check your farm stand businesses too. Washington State has regulations and restrictions on alliums from other states.
When you say parasites does that mean the foliage they eat?
https://www.filareefarm.com Still has garlic. 🙂
We get Mayflies so bad up here in MN that they use snow plows to clear the streets. Eggs are laid in the river and they only last a day after they hatch
I have been learning about saving your pepper plants so you can get an early harvest the next year. Do you do that?
I love hot peppers on my eggs at breakfast.
