  1. im confused. it is now july almost can i plant garlic? im in zone 9 i believe? louisiana. i've seen videos saying you have to put the cloves in the fridge for 6 weeks then a friend says they need sprouts?? seems like people do different things so im so confused what is necessary and not. this is the very first time im trying to grow it!! also a video said to soak the cloves for a couple of hours in water baking soda and a little fish fertilizer. is that necessary?

  2. so also sorry but a different video said to fertilize the garlic sometimes did you not fertilize ever? im just so confused lol….so i can use leaves and grass clippings as mulch? if so thats fantastic! bc i was going to have to wait and buy straw! also does the garlic not need shade? b/c another video said it may and also the other video the guy planted his way deeper like 5-6 inches bc he said the soil would be cooler that deep??? so im thinking possibly if i plant now in july then maybe i should do that also??

  3. Thanks so much for your video. You make it look so easy! I'm trying to do garlic this year as well as a few other veggies. I was thinking of trying garlic in a container garden.

  4. Garlic is GREAT for interplanting to keep away pests like moles, voles, and groundhogs. I'm also liking your planting idea. I think I may try that but with cleats to hold the containers.

  5. HELP = planted my garlic last year after the first frost and planted it in a raised bed as you did. The weather turned and we had a week of warmer weather and the garlic started growing and popping through the straw. It then turned cold and in Jan- Feb got very cold as it does here in Iowa. Well then the worst happened and not one single plant grew in the spring. Can you give any idea as to reasons and maybe how to get better results???
