I love Ingles. they have good prices and their meats are pretty good. They are just so far from me. Whenever I am out their way I make sure I go in.
My daddy always ate cornbread with buttermilk.
The plant that made Three Rivers and White Lily was located in Knoxville, TN. For some reason they sold out to Smuckers (that’s the story). The White Lily brand was then made in Texas. That’s when Three Rivers went away and White Lily flour was not as good. A person that worked in the plant said that the corn meal went through a process that other meal didn’t. That was what made it so good.

I split the cornbread mix with wholewheat flour and made pancakes. Added 1 tablespoon of brown sugar too! Yum yum!
I just about fell over in the store when I saw "Three Rivers Cornmeal Mix"…..No matter the recipe I used the last 9 years, It never came close to "Three Rivers Cornmeal". I use "whole" buttermilk…drippings from bacon for the oil, and Lodge Cast Iron Pan
