  1. Yu needed to start digging about 2 feet out and next year leav plenty of room and if yu start digging farther out yu would hav had closer to 5 lbs of roots. Plz check out the leavs yu thru out, salad and stir fry helper for 3 weeks!!!!

  2. Chop three garlic cloves fine, add two (soup) spoons of a grated horseradish and stir it together with a spoon of maca (Lepidium meyenii) powder and a spoon of honey into 200 g of white yogurt. Amounts of particular ingredients depend upon your preference.

  3. Oh my goodness…I’ve been following your videos for quite some time. Very informative and usually very fun to watch!! I have horseradish in my garden and I decided I was going to harvest this year… It has been in the same spot for seven years and I’ve never dug any of it up. I never save roots and have left it to regrow each year. My roots probably go clear to China!! Our neighbor digs his up with a backhoe and I used to laugh at him… But no more!

  4. I am still growing plants that I transplanted from a homestead that was abandoned over 60 years ago. I usually do 2 to 3 year harvests. Have helped start patches in 6 states and a university.

  5. Nice juvenile horseradish plant. (leaves are edible. make a nice bay leaf substitute for fermenting foods. substitute like spinach or collards mustard greens.) Not a bad flavor and not hot. Every root over 1/4 inch (and probably less) you missed will probably give you most of what you got in 2020. Expect 4x of what you got in 2020 for 2021. Cutting greens is key to limiting roots.

  6. Wow !!! What a Haul. You have enough to eat and grow again. Ya know , horse radish that you leave in the soil will always grow back , even if you do not want it to. Be careful , very , very careful to remove all roots. Good thing you love it, me too….

  7. so funny 🙂 I just dug up some surprise horseradish, probably eons old from the old farmers field. Then I watched you, lol — I'm about to clean them up and jar it. Yep, its an adventure and a mystery. Great fun!! Thanks 🙂

  8. "MIGardener's amateur hour here…" I love that. I actually appreciate this video very much. We all have a first time with every plant, and by you sharing this, we learned right along with you. Thank you for sharing this!

  9. This is one of the healthiest things you can eat in his Antioxidants and has been tested for slowing the growth of cancer there are trials being done using it as a treatment to certain cancer and it tastes really good on a blooming onion.

  10. I see you have comfrey growing right beside the horse radish. I just had to laugh. Two of the hardest plants to eradicate once you have it. At least horse radish is useful. I learned these things over the last 30 years the hard way. I now grow my horse radish in a dedicated patch far from my garden. I did enjoy your video. Thank you!
